Hmmm, this doesnt help me. I have conquered FO3, and all the games in the Orange Box. I cant play online, so the only game someone has listed that
I can play in windowed mode is CIV 4. The games can be older too, I tried Company of Heroes, and Heroes of Might and Magic. Plus I tried Red Alert.
These games do not run in windowed mode, so saying lots do is not true. I have googled for a list but cant find one

Ok, I like FPS, RTS, RPG, MMO, pretty much ALL games except Simulators. And as for my requirements, I can run anything out now and in the past.
I didnt think the list would be that big since there arent that many.

Windows XP Pro.

I do a half-assed job anyway. You say most games, I kind of need titles since "most" doesnt help me.

I need to run a game in windowed mode so I can work and play at same time, I know that I can lay WOW this way. And I think Diablo 1 and 2. And Sims will run in windowed mode.

Does anybody know of any others that will run this way.

Just uninstall it if your not using it, most new games I find will ask you if you want to keep your saves, so you can uninstall the whole game, but always have your progress saved if you decide to go back.

I was playing Fallout 3 this morning, and my PC shut down. I rebooted, started playing it again and it shut down. I recently bought a new Video Card 2 weeks ago Radeon 4870. So this thing wants 500W minimum. My PSU is 500W. I have had no problem for about 2 weeks and today I notice a high pitch whine coming from power supply. It gets louder if I start running a graphics intensive game like Fallout 3 or 3D Mark. It is fine right now, but as soon as I run a game, it shuts down the PC. At first I thought it was the CPU, but I dont think they make noise like this. So I think it must be the PSU or vid card.

What do you think, do PSU's make noise like this when pushed?

I purchased a new 4870 yesterday, and I it recommends a 500W power supply. I currently have 550W.

Currently I am running 3 harddrives, two DVD writers, 2 case fans, XFI soundcard, and after market fan on CPU.

Will 550W still be enough?

And that was what I want, somthing that would do the job. I thought maybe 4870 was a little ecessive too. If a 4850 can do the same for my monitor. Does it matter if I get 512 or 1GB of mem
