Ukitake is one of the better captains, so that says a fair bit about Wonderweiss if he was able to take a chunk out of him like that...
Also, something strange to note, Barragan's respira only aged Soi Fon's arm down to the bone... yet it completely destroyed Barragan, who himself was little more than bone...

Well if you remember Hachi explains that Barragan must of had some other power protecting his bones which is why Hachi put Barragan's own power inside of him. Maybe his power was set to only age til bone then stops for his own protection and Hachi put Barragan's power inside his bones therefore it destroyed him completely.
you are probably right...he did say that barrigan had a power that protected him from his own power...so the only way to kill him was from inside
Also, Barrigan is the source of the ageing, so maybe it happens faster the closer to his core you get. So when the protection broke, it quickly consumed him

Most people are bad at other languages. English have massacared a lot of Japanese pronunciation, such as city names

Well actually he said they learned bankai at the same time. I meant to say that he learnt getsuga tenshou, and he said to Ichigo "See? Like i said, you really suck, Ichigo. Have you forgotten? I was the first one to use Getsuga Tenshō while in Bankai. All you did was watch my battle. You tried to imitate me, and failed miserably. You're a pathetic fake, Ichigo! Give it up. You can't use Bankai."
