I'm not against this kind of game being released. But people who are getting excited about this game purely off of this trailer weirds me the **** out.
This game looks like sick fun - in a good way. Are you a girly man or something? Looks inspired by Postal, and seeing as I grew up on Postal, it's hard for me to not get interested in a game like this. I wish all games had this level of gore and brutality - I'd get a lot more enjoyment out of them.
Postal was a shit series though. But gore isn't the problem here, it's just how completely unlikable the protagonist here is. It's dumb teenage angst at it's purest form. And anybody who identifies with that is an A-grade retard.
It's not like me or anyone else sits around thinking "Oh, there needs to be more games where you play a psycho who kills innocent people", that's not really the point - it's just nice when game developers come out and say "Yea, we're not trying to sell our game to every single person out there in the Universe and create a game pandered to everyone, we just want to deliver a experience that we think is fun". There simply aren't enough games like that. Most games play it safe and avoid pursuing the fullest extent of their ideas and potential because they're afraid of being offensive or "different'.
Postal was tons of fun, and I think the theme is a ton of fun too. If you think the protagonist is particularly relatable or likeable in any game these days, and think a game is better for it, I'd think you're an A-grade retard. The level of fun you have from a videogame should in no way extend from how much you relate to the videogame character. If you're looking for some sort of relation with a protagonist, maybe consider a book or a novel instead. Games are supposed to be fun, and if it achieves its goal, who gives a shit? Do you only play games where the protagonist is go-lucky happy individual who fights bad guys? Sounds like pretty boring tastes to me...
Regardless, do you really feel like that much of a better person killing cops in GTA or Payday? If so, how come? You should feel worse about killing cops than civilians. If you feel like taking virtual lives is bad or reflects moral compass, maybe you should put the videogames down?
Your sort of reaction reminds me of how people treated John Carpenter's Halloween...
"Who'd want to see a bunch of teenage girls get murdered for an hour? This movie is for nobody but sickos and angsty teenagers, I feel sorry for people who watch it this".
lol.
