It's not friday tomorrow.
Your birthday isnt the same day every year. The key word was BORN on Friday the 13th, and I said tomorrow's my birthday because December 13th is my bday. I'm not a moron.
[QUOTE="RiSkyBiZ-13"][QUOTE="Frost_Mage"]I would recommend for that for some, they take some years off before going to college. Maybe a couple or so. Sometimes, this lowers the chances that people will go at all, but I guess a parent's good guidance might help out there. Going straight from high school to college doesn't give a person a great understanding of how the world works in many instances. Ideally, I'd hope that kids take the time to work a job for a bit, join the military or do something else that gives them time to somewhat grasp what life is about...then get a great education from college. muthsera666
Couldn't agree more. I'm going to college when I get out of the military. The experience and perspective I've gained from travelling the world is amazing. I would have never learned anything staying in PA, getting a job there, and dying there.
Hey, hey, hey. No dissing Pennsylvania. There are some good colleges here. Bucknell University for one, which is where I am. Maybe you wouldn't have learned anything, but don't make it sound as though it's not possible. You could have lived your whole life in PA and still learned a lot...
No, don't get me wrong, I love PA. I'll be back in a year and a half as a civilian, I plan on spending the rest of my life there. As for not learning, I was talking about perspective. I know there are some grade A colleges there.

[QUOTE="RiSkyBiZ-13"]I'm sure this post will cause flame, but whatever. This is my opinion.
Liberals will be the demise of our country, no doubt. They are the enemy. They are responsible for affirmative action, they are responsible for not allowing airport security to racially profile (they can't search mostly individuals of middle eastern descent, it has to be even). Liberals promote abortion. Liberals think that absolutely nothing should have been done about 9/11. (Think Clinton and USS Cole, they were happy that we did NOTHING when terrorists blew up one of our warships, killing many sailors). Bottom line, I hate liberals. I hate what they stand for, and mark my words they WILL ruin our country, I plan on being a citizen of Canada before that happens.
Like I said, it's my opinion. (Liberals usually don't like people with opinions that aren't 100% politically correct, so I'll probably get flamed soon...)

Your argument does suffer from over-generalization but we can still try to have a rational debate about the issue at hand.
Affirmative action - yes, it's a completely idiotic system that rewards people based upon their race and/or gender, rather than their qualities. It should be scrapped. However, there is also this other system that should be scrapped, the one that allowed our president GW Bush (with a C average) to get into harvard business school (or was it yale?).
Profiling - I agree with you on this one. This is simply a politically correct copout that is preventing airport screeners from selectively screening people that are more likely to be terrorists (i.e., middle eastern guys rather than a 90 year old grandma)
Abortion - Last i checked, the highest levels of abortion and divorce were in those conservative red states, or am i wrong on this one? In addition, as long as the fetus is aborted within the first trimester, i don't care too much about it. If someone is so irresponsible that they get knocked up so easily, then they're probably doing the kid a favor by aborting him.
Attack on the cole - This is a complicated issue since the investigation of the attack wasn't really completed until clinton left office. It was only then that al qaeda was conclusively blamed for the attack. Should clinton have responded regardless of this final verdict, sure. Therefore, i'm not sure why you're not angry about bush's response since it was on his watch that the final report came out and he SHOULD have responded to the attacks but didn't. Then he took a month break right before 9-11 when memos such as "bin laden determined to strike the US" came out. In conclusion, you should blame bush more for this than clinton for completely dropping the ball.
I do agree with you that like most far-right neocons, the far-left socialists would like nothing better than to drive this country into the ground to fulfill some agenda that they have set for themselves. It's our job not to let them do it.
Thank you for a good reply, and well constructed argument. The flame is coming too fast for me to keep up, and I have to go to bed so I'll grudgingly leave this thread.
