I recently "upgraded" from my old fat psp to the psp 3000. I am very happy with it and have found no issues.

Recently completed GOW, and the graphics absolutely blew me away. An epic game.

If Sony comes up with a download store that rivals what Apple has done with itunes, then, yeah, I can see myself buying a PSPGo. As it stands now,

the PSN store is miserable, especially, it seems, in Europe.

First of all I'd like to say hi and say this is my first post so no abuse coz I done something stupid please.

Well as the title says I'm thinking about getting a PSP and have a few questions that need answers so lets get straight to them.

First of all I was wondering what PSP is the best for money? as I only have a budget of around £150-£180 and would like a fewaccessoriesand games.

Second I would like to know how big the online community for the PSP is as I am a big fan of multiplayer and such.

Third I was thinking about getting Killzone Liberation, any thoughts and do people still play it?

Finally I would like to know if there are any other games I should get bearing in mind I'm not into extremely complex rpgs (but I still like simplified rpgs) also I like the look of Killzone so any other games like that?

Thanks in advance :)

I recently upgraded from my original "fat" PSP 1000 to the 3000er series. So far, I'm quite happy. No "scanline" issues either with the newer, more colorful display of the 3000er series. Keep in mind that Sony now sells the console "bare bones", so at the minimum you'll need the following accessories: 1) A memory card. 2) A case 3) A USB cable 4) A screen protector 5) A headset The built quality of the newer models is flimsy to say the least. The backcover that opens for the UMD discs looks really finicky. The catalogue of available games is now very good. The PSN store is crap.

Wipeout Pure and Wipeout Pulse. It doesn't get any better than that. And both work perfectly fine on the PSP, are rich with content, superb graphics and gameplay, etc.

I wouldn't buy a computer without optical drives, and I'm sure as hell not buying a handheld console that relies

on downloads only.

In fact, I'm extrememly happy with my PSP 3000. The UMDs are easy to store and easy to carry around when on the road. The big box stays home.

The PSP GO would be a viable contender if Sony were able to set something up that comes close to what Valve has done with Steam.

I'm currently in Germany, and the PSN Store is pathetic.

i like it a lot. i never imagined in a thousand years id like the psp because a lot of the games didnt really interest me but i went ahead and bought one anyways because my little cousin gave me parapa the rapper...before i actually got it.

so i went and bought a used psp 2000. i really didnt need a microphone or screen glare reduction (psp3000) but i didnt want that super fat 1000 so the 200 was just right for me. anyways i got an 8 gig memory stick and i dl'ed some games. so now i also have Final Fantasy Tactics and the original street fighter alpha. must have classics for me! but i like the way it integrates with the ps3 and everything....wow its just a great handheld. Plus its nice to finally have a handheld system again since i havent owned one since the days of the original gameboy....oh no wait, i didhave the original gameboy color! but that was back then.

anybody recommend me some more good games to get for the psp that are original and not some rehash from the ps2 or ps3?

EDIT: playing FF tactics right now and LOVING IT! :D

The PSP platform has matured and there is now a decent library of games available. It took years, but finally great shooters have/are appearing on the PSP. I'm currently working my way through some older titles (SHO, GOW, Syphon Filter, etc.) and having a blast. I dumped my fat PSP which was collecting dust anyways and bought the PSP 3000, a great handheld, no scanline issues either.

Bioshock is going to really appeal to us gamers that have been around a little longer. If you're old enough to have played System Shock and System Shock II you will most likely be very interested in Bioshock.

Personally I still regard System Shock II as the best FPS I have ever played. If they are able to recreate that same type of gameplay in Bioshock then the game will do extremely well.

Exactly. Couldn't have said it better myself. I loved all the trailers and gameplay movies I've seen so far. Bioshock is definitely on my list of "to buy" titles.

The game is "hard" because enemy ai coding is substandard and mediocre. There is no stealth, no strategy, enemies respawn randomly and without any logic, rhyme, or reason.

Get better weapons, get a scope, and start sniping tangoes from a distance. It becomes less frustrating that way.

I WISH they had stolen some of the better ideas from other games, like, how to code good enemy ai. ricardo
