Reguardless of the fact that I don't have a Wii, I'm getting the 360 version anyway for 2 reasons:

1. It's the only version Sega's been showing off

2. The Hedgehog engine. I've been dying to test it out since the E3 demo and after Next-gen, I think this series needs reinvention.

Besides that he did say that they were preview builds so maybe the problems won't be as severe when the game releases. And patches are still an option. Of course none of this will matter to me if the game gets bad reviews.

[QUOTE="RidersInThe-Sky"]You never actually played it before?kbaily

Only briefly when the demo was on display in a game store and that was so frustrating, I decided to pass it up and wait for Secret Rings though I did think about for a long time, that when it got really cheap, I might finally play it out of boredom. I'm glad I didn't pay $60 for it at launch.

You're better than me, I rented it, knew how bad it was, but out of sheer fanboy despiration, bought it anyway. Worst $10 I've ever seen in my life.

I new there was a set I was forgetting. Thanks for the reminder. For this mistake, I can only blame myself for not doing better research, Sega for lacking quality control, but most of all, I blame Sonic Team for whoring out the Sonic franchise so much, you could give it a pink outfit and call it Paris Hilton.

I think we all know that Next gen was a low point in the series history. But for those of you losing faith, here's a few franchise releases after next gen that should please everyone.

Sonic and the Secret Rings = The closest thing to a Next gen Sonic game until Unleashed, Secret Rings is truly a breath of fresh air from the last load of 3D crap. despite a few poor design choices here and there, its nice to play a game that's actually fast.

Sonic Chronicles = A Sonic RPG? actually good? shocking I know but thanks to old school locales and an engaging combat system, this may just be one of the best DS Rpg made.

Sonic SatAm: the complete series = The only good Sonic cartoon (excluding Adventures) finallygets a propper dvd release. Sure its got a little bit of 90's cheese, but if you're like me and woke up Saturday mornings every week obsessively to watch it, you'll feel right at home

Sonic The Hedgehog issues 129-141 = Sonic returns from space 1 year after the Quantum Dial incident to find out he was pronounced dead. These issues are an absolute must read for any Sonic fan. watching Sonic dealing with "Returning from the dead" is probably my favorite moment of this series and as emotional as the comics can get. And for the SonAmy fans, yes, this was the year that contained the infamous slap of Sally Acorn.

The way I see it, Bioware did the best with what they could. I mean a Sonic RPG is a pretty stupid idea to begin with, but it's good to know it works better in execution.

I try to use a variety of combinations so I just use everyone, although I do tend to avoid using Robotnik, Cream, or Tails. They're useless.

Ok, Ok, can we let this one go. I joined SonicSpot because it's one of the few Sonic forums devoid of the stereotypical negative attitudes towards critics. Can we please just keep the peace?

It's a fact of life that the less popular something is, the less ammount of promotion it's going to get. So until a great Sonic game comes out, why bother wasting effort on another bad-mediocre 3D one.
