Tack on another $60 if you want to play your games with a friend. Oh, and don't forget your subscription fee to Sony or Microsoft's online service. I'm not seeing any value here.
I can't see dropping $400 or $500 for either of these consoles. What do you really get that so much better than the previous generation console? Just graphics, and you can spend far less on a video card for your PC and have those better graphics already.
@GregoryBastards @gufberg @young_nasa87 What you are doing is simply listing platform-exclusive titles and I don't really see the point. People who own a PS3 can't play Halo, nor can people who own an X360 play God of War. Neither of the aforementioned can play Super Mario, so I don't really get what you're driving at.
People who don't own a PC can't play Startcraft 2, Civilization V, World of Warcraft, League of Legends, DOTA 2, World of Tanks or literally tens of thousands of other titles. Do see now how completely ridiculous your post is?
You have chosen to be closed-minded out of some sort of contrived brand-loyalty rather than actually examining the facts and drawing the correct conclusion, which is that there are far more games on PC than on any other platform. As a matter of fact, there are more games for sale on Steam alone than have ever even been made for any of the consoles.

The user score on metacritic is 8.1. Gamespot gives it a 5. This just shows me again how out of touch these professional reviewers are. I've played the game myself and found it to be a lot of fun. They did have server issues because they didn't expect to sell as many copies of the game as they sold. But I paid $11 with this game and, for that price, I'm willing to deal with a growing pain or two. Besides that, you can play the game in local co-op and experience no problems whatsoever.
In contrast to this, I paid $60 for Diablo 3 the day it was released and was unable to play that game at all for 2 days due to server issues. After that I was constantly plagued with lag and the inability to play the game due to server outages and downtime. There was NO OPTION to play the game offline or in local co-op. Gamespot gave that $60 turd an 8.5, but gives this $11 game which works but had SOME server issues at launch a 5.
I've given up on "professional" reviewers. Just look at the user scores if you want the real story.
@flameofheaven Turned off adblock, immediately got absolutely obliterated by annoying ads all over my screen. Remembered right away why I have adblock installed in the first place. Closed browser to get rid of all the shit on my screen and turned adblock back on. Not worth it to watch a video.
