[QUOTE="Chris_Williams"][QUOTE="RoflCopteryy"][QUOTE="Chris_Williams"] yeah and gears had the story of the year.............. alien invasion "never heard that one before".........

No one stated such a claim. What Gears of war 3 was about was the fossil fuel known as imulsion, and the struggle between the locust (originated on Sera, not aliens) and humans as well as the lambent to reclaim what they believe is rightfully theirs. It was filled with foreshadowing, symbolism and the narrative fit perfectly to key areas.

and uncharted 3 is about a man on a journey to discover who he truly is and who he can trust as he explores the vast reaches of the Earth looking for answers. See I can glamorize a simple plot too.

Really, I'm not glamorizing. I'm correcting you, because you obviously don't know what you're talking about. I stated some sequences of Uncharted 3 could have been done in a far superior manner to fit the narrative with a bit more development time. I didn't say the whole story in general was bad.

I found the Uncharted story plot pretty weaksauce across the board. Sir Drake and Marco Polo were hiding this and that, let's run around the globe and find them! Then the adventure gets too hairy and Drake gets cold feet and turns reluctant, only to be reassured into moving forward, then a friend gets in trouble and let's save them! Not much deeper than "save the princess" over and over.

Gears story was very cliched...but at least it was thought out better.

Every narrative takes aspects from other narratives. Gears of wars general story is actually very innovative, instead of some thing around the criteria of an alien invasion. Native, neanderthalic beings oppose the main characters.

I'm sure with more development time from ND it would have been far superior.

[QUOTE="Chris_Williams"][QUOTE="RoflCopteryy"][QUOTE="Chris_Williams"] uncharted 3 is just that special, naughty dog knows how to make a game thats going to be talked about for months to come

Yep, they know how to release an unfinished one that had copious, copious amounts of hype. Which in the end was partial to its demise.

i mean, it didn't get 10's and 9's and have a 93 metacritic score for nothing and the fact that your still talking about it means its just a game you can't stop talking to your friends about :), everyday there is a new uncharted 3 thread, good job naughty dog :)

Gears of war 2 achieved a high average as well, mainly due to hype. And it was probably quite a bit more broken then Uncharted 3 was on launch.

[QUOTE="RoflCopteryy"][QUOTE="soulitane"]Just finished playing it the other day, it was fairly jaggied and had screen quite a bit of screen tearing, those sound like technical issues to me. It was better than gears 2 but it wasn't a good ending to the series, it seemed to leave a lot of things left unanswered which means that it didn't really end very well at all.soulitane
It's not a technical issue, considering Gears of war 3 doesn't use V-sync. The reason being causes input lag, the same of which Uncharted 3 uses which is why the hit boxes are so distraught.

It detracts from the overall visuals, especially the jaggies so I'd personally consider that a technical issue. You also ignored the rest of what I said.

Forgive me, but considering Gears of war 3s lack of A.A perhaps Epic had modified the polygon amounts considerably? In fact, that's exactly what they stated during one of there press conferences.

Can't people just let an old dog die? I mean uncharted 3 just came out last month and it feels like it's been around forever with all the threads about it sheesh.

Edit: Because it didn't answer some areas makes it a bad ending? You've literally got no grasp of story telling. What pulls some one in is superstition. The only aspect that wasn't completely answered was Myrahh. And through research it's obvious she originated from the new hope facility.

Brettor2200? Where you been man i missed you :oeboyishere
Just someone highly disappointed with Uncharted 3, and presently surprised by Gears of war 3. Obviously that makes me a fan boy though, at least that's what I assume "Bretter2200" did. State his opinion in a bias manner, that I am not doing.

Gears of war 3 came out with few technical issues. The game play is butter smooth and does exactly what it's supposed to do. It also had a two in a half year development time with the full team of Epic creating it. This isn't exactly the same for Uncharted 3. ND had half its team working on "there baby". About 3/4 through development they found literally half the game was utterly malfunctioning on older gen consoles. And it had a regular two year development time. The broken shooting is obviously testament as well as the other copious issues befalling Uncharted 3. ND literally stated they'd rushed Uncharted 3 to completion. And that's not all. Gears of war 3 is a spectacular conclusion to the series, and the general consensus is that it is far superior to its predecessor Gears of war 2. The reason being is first of all; its multi-player isn't utterly broken. It actually runs quite nicely; especially with the dedicated servers and polished game play mechanics. (Uncharted 3 lacks dedicated servers; its multi-player is terribly un-balanced with failed CoD like mechanics and has fallen of the top 10 Game fAQ charts as of recent). The SP has been touched up with a far superior story, as I stated previously. And 4 player co-op, with arcade and an even longer campaign. (Uncharted 3 lacks co-op, has a shorter campaign and the story is an absolute mess filled with plot holes and points [such as cruise ship] which doesn't even make sense.) Not only that, but after all the additions to Gears of war 3. It adds beast mode, a cool off mode which breaks up bore a tenfold. Something Uncharted 3 lacks innovation as a whole. In conclusion, I think any one from a non-bias stand point can agree after reading this which game is superior. It's sad when a sequel fails to outdo its predecessor, and literally the overall belief is Uncharted 3 is inferior. Once the dust clears and the fanboysm stops, I think we'll find Uncharted 3 ends up very much like Gears of war 2 did.
