Are you sure? My performance sky rocketed, no exaggeration. Went from Crysis 2 at all medium 1920x1080 30 FPS to all high 1920x1080 40+ FPS I can now run Metro 2033 all maxed at 1920x1080 30 FPS from medium at the same FPS. It just feels ridiculous that it was all backgroud tasks, never knew it was such an impact.

So, apparently going from balanced to high performance made me gain a huge FPS increase in every game.

Crysis 2 on balanced ran at 20-30 FPS on medium at 1920x1080

Now all high at 50+ FPS

Maxed out Metro 2033, 30+ FPS when before I could only play at medium and a low res.

Seriously, I was wondering why my performance was so bad with my specs, and nobody told me to change power settings. I just stumbled across it because my display driver sometimes stopped working and one guy told me to change the settings.

And I closed a bunch of background tasks.

Also, is 70c for an HD 6870 an OK temperature while gaming? How long can it stay at those temps?

I use just that, MSI Afterburner is really handy. I just try to baby my computer, the fan seemed loud so in my head I go "I don't really want to stress it out." Thanks for clearing it up.

So i'm getting about 50C idle on this card, and around 68-83 while playing Crysis 2 with the fan turned to 40%. Idle fan is about 30%.

Few questions

1) Are these temps too high?

2) If I keep the fan at a constant 40% or higher, will there be issues like the fan malfunctioning? Even at 40% it sounds pretty loud and I don't really want to stress it.

Cool, thanks. Currently worried about the adapter/transformer thing now. Probably going to check out London Drugs.

So I read that you can take a PS3 on an airplane trip, i'm going on a long 16+ hour one to Romania (In Canada now) so I have a few questions

1) When you get the PS3 scanned through X-Rays, does it mess up any internal hardware? If so, can I avoid this in any way?

2) I used a transformer for the PSP Charger (EU has different outlets), and I BELIEVE that my PSP Charger got fried because of it, currently not working. Is there a voltage setting I need to use? Has it been overjuicing it? And can anybody reccomend a good transformer also?

I would really like some tips on this, I don't want to lose a $400 gaming machine and my save files.

Thank you in advance!

Hello, wondering what some good temperatures for this amazing card are? I have it but i'm worried if I keep my fan too high all the time it would shorten the lifespan of it. I usually keep my fan at 30-35%, and when the card is idle it's at 40 C, 55-60 while gaming. If I keep it on Auto it usually sits at 50c idle and 65 or so gaming, are these temps too high for the card in the long run?
