It's a fairly even split between my GameCube, PS2, and 360 right now, but the GameCube will never be buried in my closet or sold. It shall LIVE ON beneath my TV!

The GameCube's overall library was small, but the nucleus of games that made it a cult favorite are what keep us coming back to the lunchbox for more. Metroid Prime, Resident Evil, SSBM, F-Zero GX, Fire Emblem, Wind Waker, Baten Kaitos, Paper Mario, Tales of Symphonia, MGS: Twin Snakes, Twilight Princess, Pikmin (all but one exclusives), and non-exclusives like TimeSplitters 2, Prince of Persia, Metal Arms, Beyond Good & Evil, Viewtiful Joe.. all great games, and they all help the GameCube live on.

Can't go wrong with TimeSplitters 2, great sci-fi weaponry with WWII-period guns mixed in, and yes, the characters are funny and intimidating at the same time, and the levels are big and multi-dimensional, although they don't have the depth of Halo. However, I personally prefer Medal of Honor: Frontline. TS2 takes some serious man hours to get good at, and even then luck plays a big factor. Frontline is a lot more accessible and evenly-matched. But you should definitely play/own both.

Yeah bud, GameCube is still awesome, and if you don't think so, you must not be much of a Wii fan, since that system is pretty much the same thing, only Duck Hunt-ified. And without gnarly games like F-Zero and Metal Gear Solid to call it's own.

Gun, at the moment. I was trying toprotectthe stagecoach leaving Dodge City from the Apaches when I accidentally shot a barrel of TNT that was too close to me and blewmyself to kingdom come. But that was only 'cause the sun was shining on the TV screen and screwing me up. Honest. Games soon to be in my GameCube: Metal Arms: Glitch in the System, F-Zero GX, Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door, TimeSplitters 2, Medal of Honor: Frontline, Resident Evil, Metal Gear Solid: The Twin Snakes, Metroid Prime, Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance, XIII, Battalion Wars, True Crime: Streets of LA, Hitman 2, not necessarily in that order.

Also, the Nintendo Wii sucks, as do the chumps that bought one. Just my opinion!

Obviously the GameCube as a console has now been bumped aside by the Wii,and most would contend it was on the backburner long before the Wii ever came about. But what is the future of the GameCube for you as a gamer? Personally, I didn't get my hands on one until early 2006, and have had a lot of fun with it, fully intend to keep it hooked up and at the ready somewhere in my place for at least the next five years, just playing the crap out of Resident Evil 1/0/4, Super Smash Bros. Melee, Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door, Metal Gear Solid: The Twin Snakes, Metroid Prime 1 & 2, TimeSplitters 2, F-Zero GX, Medal of Honor: Frontline, Hitman 2, Soul Calibur II, Mortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance, and others. So tell me, where does the GameCube fit in your gaming life over the next year? Three years? Ten?

Still love mine, and will be playing all the gnarly games for it for years to come. Down with the Wii, long live the GC.

Don't listenĀ to these guys telling you to invest in a Wii. The Wii CAN play GameCube gamesĀ AND Wii games, but right now, there just aren't any games to play on the Wii, so you'd be kicking an extra $190 in the hole for access to $50 games that aren't any good. GameCube is a great buy with a solid library of games that are $6-$25 used. Pass on the Wii and do it!
