[QUOTE="htekemerald"]Well take the manufaturing price of an xbox and add the 10 bucks it costs to make the Wiimote and nunchuck. And the 3 cents it cost to make wii sports.htekemerald

Clever... I bet you are in a gifted program.

Its been said many time that the wii is as powerfull the origional xbox. and the remote and nunchuck are dirt cheap. and dvds make dirt look expensive.

You say it costs 3 cents to develope a game... where do you make games and where should the FBI bust down the front door?

It wasn't a very promising premise - a soldier-guy smashes robots with a giant hammer. The graphics looked 'meh', combat didn't look very deep (from what we've seen)...it just looked like another linear, generic action-adventure game.

The only thing it seemed to have going for it was semi-destructible environments - it's not like it was likely to be an AAA game.

Yeah, but more AA or even A games is better than no games at all. I would much rather this game come out and try to be successful than never leave the gate. That is, unless, the developers see that they will not benefit at all from doing so.

If this is what you want, then hope for it. But I highly doubt that we will see the Wii not live the full 5 year expectancy that we have all come to... expect.

I would have to say that for a company that has nothing left to fall back on. $40 profit is quite reasonable.foxhound_fox
I forgot about that.

[QUOTE="SA--X"]Ifyou had been playing baseball, and use to be extremely well at it, for 10 yearswithout hitting a home run and then suddenly started to carry your entire team in points, don't you think you would gloat just a bit?Ragnarok1051

That is a very good point, but don't you think it seems that the Sheep learned nothing with the N64 and Gamecube?

What should I have learned? Each of those generations, though not being the top seller, had the larger number of GOTY title (at least on GS). That proved that in Nintendo's desperate hour, they maintained the quality and integrety that they always had. Now they are getting a cash flow. Last time that happened (NES I suppose) it was a great gaming system. The next one they made, the SNES, is considered to be the pinnacle of console gaming history. Why should I be conserend? This could lead to the second rise of N, bring a 2nd golden age to video gaming. (Yes, that was all done on a magic crystal ball)

The game looked crap from the beginning, so if the rumour is true, isn't that a good thing?

[QUOTE="Hewkii"]it costs pennies to make a copy of a game.GunSmith1_basic

But it cost Millions to actually develop one.

I think he's comparing that to making a console...

i dont think so. I think he means the pennies it takes to press a disc

He's saying that if you look at the materials that it takes to make a game CD, it is not much at all. But, if you saw the whole picture, you would see the gigantic team of people being paid hourly wages, the resources it takes, and the advertisement behind the label of each game. There is much more than plastic and magnetic paper (or whatever CDs are made of) in that game. Just like with a console, there was a team that made it, advertisements had to be made, and lots of jobs depend on each sale. Nintendo making a big profit just means higher wages for their customers, more money being spent on developement, and more money in researching new tech for the next system.
