I am a DS owner but I finally broke down and got a 3DS because of luigis mansion and fire emblem... And now I have this exclusive to look forward to? Holy f***ing s*** Nintendo knows how to make good handhelds!!! And I still need Ocarina, Mario 3D Mario Kart. Jesus it's ridiculous...same thing happened with the DS - I got hit with an insane backlog and I didn't even wait this long to buy it!!!

I don't think there is a concrete yes or no right answer to be honest. On the flip side of that coin, some people can play games to the detriment of themselves - In effect avoiding these real life issues that you speak of when in fact they need to find positive coping skills to deal with them head on. When you go and play a game it might give you a reprieve from your problems but they will still be there when you get back. Keep in mind I am not arguing with you just letting it be known that its not as black and white as you make it out to be. But I personally have had more positive than negative experiences when it comes to videogames as a therapeutic mechanism.

I'm just waiting for this series to actually use the buku $ they make from all the sheep who buy their games to innovate and advance not just the series but the genre itself. Is it their job and do they owe that to me? Of course not, but I first fell in love with shooters with Doom and then multiplayer FPS with Goldeneye, I've been around the block a few times, and i start to catch on quick when the genre gets stagnant. This series whether they like it or not have become torchbearers for the genre. That's why I loved Bioshock and I never bought a COD past Modern Warfare. Impress me enough and ill buy it plain and simple. But I've got a feeling it will just be a new coat of paint...maybe the next gen will change my mind we'll see.

Whatever they do I know it will be great. You simply don't f*** with Retro, Intelligent Systems Hal Lab, R&d 1 and 2 and whatever other ridiculous first party devs are under Nintendos umbrella tree. I think I maybe left one out or even mixed a couple up but bottom line: nintendo makes its bread and butter on these devs: who even needs 3rd party? That's why I got a ps3!

Exactly, in fact I remember before the original Metroid Prime came out so many critics and fans alike were upset that the series was shifting to first person and 3d - that this shift would ruin the 'Metroidvania' formula established by its predecessor - well they were right and everyone else was wrong! Bottom line, with all due respect: leave it to the pros! I trust retro with all my heart and whatever they do I know it will be great; I could care less if they add a 4 at the end! Please don't compare Halo to Metroid (not including Other M - not a Retro core game)

Lol ill admit that's funny but joking aside I would only find the lack gameplay insulting if I didn't have other more gameplay centric games to balance it out. It's not like I play one game all year. Or as you would call it an interactive movie xD

There must be a fifty comments on here about how they won't pay full price for a 10 hour game. I think Cage is simply saying that there'll be ten hours of gameplay - imagine how much video there will be? Probably four times that. So maybe we are looking at a fifty hour game? Its all part of the overall package. I'm just erring on the side of optimism here. I could be wrong and I'm sure one of you will jump at the chance to correct me lol. Granted, I am all for getting value for your money having recently sunk in 300+ hours into my first Monster Hunter game. Oftentimes while playing though, I questioned the grind of it all, and it really made me question the quality versus quantity debate.. I bought tomb raider full price and I loved it. Beat it in about 16-17 hours and sure I only played it once but the EXPERIENCE made it worth it in my eyes. You have to judge each game on its own merits and comparing them can get you in trouble sometimes. I also like how Cage sheds light on the importance of telling a compelling story that people actually want to finish. What an awesome dude in the game industry - it sure needs people like him in this day and age.

Can't believe we live in a world where an Ecco the Dolphin needs a kick starter but CODs sell like hot cakes...
