^^I'd blow up in anger if Brad left. That's the Shoe man!!
It already is, despite the editors leavin.I have a feeling this is just a phase. Soon GS will rise and be the best game forum on the internet.
Sig me if you have faith in GS.

I always came here for the community, not the GS reviewers. So this doesn't really effect me.hokies1313Good for you...
Ryans Leavin?
Gamespot's sense of humor has left the building. Now we get to hear Ryan Macdonald say "right on" all the time.DarkKarHey!! I like when he be sayin that!!

What you sayin? There won't be online?None of those games will get a 10 on gamespot. Ever since square did their best on reshashing games, starting with ff10-2, they've lost their edge. FF12 had some of the worst audio quality, and some of the worst level griding out of any rpg. Then ff7, all the spin offs of its speak for theirselves.
Gta4, won't be perfect. Having an open world setting, means it'll have some issues. And fallout 3? For some reason, I believe it'll have nearly as many technical issues as oblivion.
Not too sure what the next game with a 10 would be. Metal gear solid 4 WAS a contender, but then they traded true full on multiplayer for basically a beta/demo of it. Thats enough to knock it down.
I'd just love to see duke nukem forever as the next 10. But with people hating stereotypes like that which the world needs, it won't get perfect just for that alone.

I don't think any of those games have a chance, given GS's track record. But, I got to ask (particularly because m0zart mentioned four) - which games did GS rate a 10 in the past? The only ones I can think of are Ocarina of Time and Chrono Cross.vgm007Tony Hawks Pro Skater was another one.
Who knows. But seriously THPS3 with a 10. Now thats just ridicuols. Ocarina of time I can understand, but a tony hawk game. who reviewed that game.EatBoxSocks666Jeff Gertsmann...
The only game I could possibly envision scoring a 10 anytime in the near future would be MGS4. It may not, but I'm sure it'll come darn close.MarcusAntoniusI agree. I thought DMC 4 was gonna get a 10, but I was wrong there. Only time will tell. I hope it does.
Yeah it will.I don't think there are any games we know of that are going to have a chance at a ten even. Perhaps I just don't understand the love for MGS, but I don't think it has the quality gameplay necessary to be that great. Smash Bros. is almost as hyped as Halo 3 yet I don't think it holds as much promise. We've seen 2 games before it and this new entry doesn't really change the formula enough to make it truly epic (could I at least get some actual character balance for once?). As for Spore, it will have a cult following probably, but just won't be as in depth as I think people are hoping for (this is purely speculation, but one generated through past experiences of similar games). I've seen nothing from Fallout 3 that even really tells me what the game is about (I'm searching for useful info on it now but can't find much).
Perhaps I'm just a pessimist, but I don't see anything special in these games. Maybe if we were talking about STALKER: Clear Sky though........

From what I've seen, Brawl isn't really bringing anything to the party that we didn't expect. Even if the online multiplayer is huge in the States, and I predict it will be, it won't get more than a 9.5, which is still a bit too high IMO. As for GTA 4, I will be amazed if the bugginess doesn't carry over from San Andreas, which will rightly keep it from a 10. Fallout 3 will be the next Mass Effect, only with a huge old-school fanbase. It will have quite a few bugs, but will receive at least 8/10 from most of the critics. MGS 4 will get a lot of attention, but won't have as good of a payoff as expected, sort of like Halo 2; it will get great reviews with a smattering of confusion over the incomprehensible plot. Spore I could see as a 10 if the exection is pulled off just right, but it will more likely go the way of Daikatana: a rainbow of hype with a big pot of nothing at the end.Cherokee_JackYeah it will.
Gaming ain't dangerous. Only for people who suffer from seizures sitting too close to the t.v.
But like morph_basic said, throwin controllers at people is the most common danger. I don't do that though.
I think part of being a hardcore gamer has to do with obssesion. Just like a basketball player is obssesed with playing basketball, and practicing all day, and he's great at what he does. You know you're hardcore when you play any genre, any game that is decent to superb, you spent countless hours playing games in one sitting, you read and write blogs about games, read previews, reviews, and try demos. You're on the forums posting threads and responding to others. You have the mega setup for gaming at home. It doesnt necessarily mean you have a huge collection but a very impressive one to say the least. You read content for story and background about your characters origins as well as the memorable settings in the games. And you enjoy some good multiplayer fun online, and basically kick butt always landing in the top 3 ranks, because you're hardcore like that. A hardcore gamer, has to be competitive. Relentless, addicted, and has a passion for video games. Some people are born to play video games. They love it, like people love music, or sports. You just know it when you look around and there are people who have no care in the world for games, and you're like what, how? Because you absolutely enjoy it. They go back and play video games they've completed because they're still excited about the game and for achievements. They go back and replay the game to beat it on a more difficult setting. This is just my definition of a hardcore gamer. There are several ways to describe a hardcore gamer.Elann2008That's pretty much the definitive explanation. I agree completely. To be honest, everything you posted is what I do all the time.
