Another point is do u wanna pay a monthly fee to play online like the 360 has u (hell i don't), with the pc only monthly subscriptions are for mmo games.  Precyse

The PS3 has no online fees.  

I think the subject line of this thread should have been:  Do PC gamers need an XBox?

I do recognize that different consoles have different strengths and weaknesses. But it is a little strange to see weaknesses listed that are Xbox-specific rather than console-specific.

I'm fairly nuetral on all this except for one thing: nothing beats sitting on your sofa with or without your pals. So I think both (PCs and Consoles) serve their purpose.

Did I mention that PCs will always be a hell of a lot more stable than console systems will ever hope to be in their entire lives? How many times does the Xbox 360 have to kill itself for people to get the hint?

Actually the "upgrades" the X360 has had, has made me seriously debate about getting one of the new consoles..

D: All of the above. Blinking red lights, disc read errors, overheats, you know. Things that would never really happen on a PC. And if they do, it's fixable. Sure, the Xbox 360 is too, but it'll just break in a few more weeks anyway. Go to the Xbox 360 forum...you will see almost every other poster on his or her "6th Xbox 360". It's a completely unreliable system, and it's unfortunate that an awesome game like Halo 3 will be limited to that console.

Besides the PC is upgradable. It will always beat the consoles in terms of graphics, gameplay and online multiplayer. I'm not a PC fanboy, but in my experience consoles just suck.

You seem to be using the term "console" as equalling "XBox360". As far as I can tell, the PS3 (for instance) does not have these problems.

Yours may not, but a lot of the PS3's have hardware issues. Not even that, but I see no real reason to buy a Playstation 3 when everything I could ever want is on the PC.

Really? I haven't actually seen any posts to that effect.

But I have to admit I was more curious about your (and others) definition of "consoles = xbox360" than anything else. It just seems strange to me...
