You honestly preferred Vaan and Penelo over Fran and Balthier? :shock: Vaan was gratingly annoying and Penelo didn't add anything to the story whatsoever; She may as well have not existed. Even her design was more bland than that of the other main characters.

I still remain firm. No FF's are underrated. Not FFIX not FFV. The older ones like FFV and FFIII which never came to US have atleast got a GBA port on their name.

I would really love to see a Terranigma port. Such a shame that a wonderful game like that never came to US. :(

Vagrant Story was another victim. Yeah,few guys who did play it loved it (I being one of them), but it's bad luck was it was released right around the time of FFIX and Chrono Cross, two publicised RPG from the same developer.

I think your comment on Vagrant Story is absolutely spot on. Not underrated, but definitely underappreciated. Same can be said for Terranigma too.

I agree with your comments on the FFs too: The series has enjoyed much critical success, even if some of the earlier ones are less well known.

Hi, I'm Nitrobomber... Bit of a new member to GameSpot and I was browsing the site when I stumbled onto this Gem. I am a huge fan of Square Enix's work before and after they changed thier company from "Soft" to "Enix", and most other RPG's that have a similar style but new innovations to their games such as valkyrie profile "great game:D" Arc the lad, Star Ocean and other great games that steal me away to play them.
