I agree with this sentiment. However, you forgot to mention MGS was released on PS1 (and possibly PC) in 1998 as well, and thats a great game if anything.

After playing it, I went back to Halo 2 to see the difference - and yeah, its different. I suggest everyone who doubts this try it for themselves.
