I don't see a problem with game developers or publishers pushing this stuff. Why not? AAA games especially MMO type online games cost an incredible amount of money to produce and keep periodic updates and game content coming. Online gamers also absolutely love being the first kids on the block to get something unique or special in game and stand around showing it off. Pets, mounts, unique player skins, emotes, etc are all commonly used by developers to sell extra content in online games and an incredible amount of gamers pay, many others whinge demanding that they get in for nothing.
The concept isn't going away anytime soon, if anything it will continue to grow. Personally I much prefer in game rewards that are earned by gameplay but I can completely understand why micro transactions exist. They exist because there is a market for them and at the end of the day, game development is a business.
@naz99: There is nothing more enjoyable than seeing fanboys get all riled up and upset when someone quite rightly has reservations about the game they blindly defend. Thank you! Did Roberts have a stretch goal for hiring lawyers because that's where a lot of that money is going to go. Get your head out of the sand kid.
@naz99: Don't be rude. Slappy is perfectly entitled to his opinion on SC just like you are. I agree with him and I backed it years ago. No reason to get all fan boy and upset because he stated what is looking likely to be pretty much spot on.
@lonesamurai1: It has nothing to do with grammar champ, you're just wrong. To state that you could care less means that you care. There's no reason to get your panties all bunched up and angry when someone is trying to help you for the next time you try and put someone down and fail.
