The UT3 Demo continually crashes at pseudo-random times after I start up a match. On the highest settings, which have a pretty smooth FPS, the game crashes in seconds, and on lower settings it crashes in minutes. On 800x600, it doesn't crash for a while. I have a 7900GS and the latest drivers, so I'm wondering if this has something to do with overheating or maybe it's just a (very) strange bug. Thanks for you help. If it is my card overheating, what should i do about it? Edit: BTW the card temp was 57-58 Celsius, is that normal?

every time i see these threads i realize how pathetic both the xbox and ps3 are compared to the pc. Most of those will end up on the pc, except halo wars (which will suck), ninja gaiden (pretty good), banjo (which is the only truly good game that is on that list). PCWii owns this generation completely.

I love advance wars, was midly entertained by battalion wars(never bought it), and am looking to buy batallion wars 2. Two questions, what kind of actual strategic decisions will be made in this game (will all gametypes be like advance wars deployed in real time, or will there be bases, resources, and unit production)? Secondly, is there at least SOME form of local (split-screen) multiplayer, because if there is it's pretty much a sure buy for me.

fire emblem is fun, but it's just so bland compared to final fantasy tactics. They seriously need to do another one for the Wii. (and make it like the original, not the ridiculous GBA game)

dawn of war is the easiest rts you will ever play. great place to start, but don't expect the challenge to rise significantly once you get hooked.

Download The Ur'Quan Masters. (its star control 2 in case you never heard of it). if you've never played it, it should hold you off till ...SPORE! It seems to be what you're asking for. Take a spaceship, construct an empire spanning up to hundreds of thousands of unique planets with unique creatures on each one, terraform the planets to your liking, engage in wars with other alien species, combine aliens in your lab to create ultimate hybrid fighters...WHAT THE HELL MORE COULD YOU WANT?

I own or played for a long time (probably borrowed from a friend or something) just about every big RTS since Warcraft 1(never played Dune 2 unfortunately), including all AoE1-3, C&C(all), EE(just the first), SC, WC1-3, AoM, DoW, CoH, RoN, Battle Realms, TA, SupCom, M;TW. Starcraft rapes every single RTS game released in all of the genre's existence. By Far. As in, it's not even close. I have more fun playing Starcraft NOW(just the clarify- IN THE PRESENT) than the rest of these games combined. Why? My favorite feature of Starcraft is how it seems to scale perfectly with the skill levels of the players. Games like CoH, SupCom, WC3, hell just about all games force you to play a certain way. Starcraft doesn't. The tactics and strategy are truly infinite, even at the pro level where they seem to follow set patterns.

Starcraft is five times as fun as either of those games. If your computer can handle it get Company of Heroes. If not, get Dawn of War.
