Well, I'm not visiting this site at all in July, except on the 11th for Nintendo's press conference. Also, I'm not playing any games this month. I want to experience life at its fullest, so I'm going to sell my 360 or whatever, put my Wii away, and not touch games at all. I need to develop some self-control - something I've been lacking. So, I bid thee all adieu until August may come. Farewell!

Well, I purchased a used 360 on Amazon, and it came yesterday...but it was all banged up and didn't include the stuff it was supposed to. I'm demanding a refund, and in the meantime I got a brand new one! I went to Game Crazy, and they apparently had a deal where I also got Viva Pinata for free! Then, I have all sorts of free rentals to Hollywood Video from them, so I rented Gears of War and Oblivion. I downloaded Castlevania and Geometry Wars, and I'm going to have a blast for about...a month or so. Then I'm going to sell the machine and stick with my Wii and DS (Metroid Prime 3 comes out in August, so I'll be good.)

So far, I've gotta say that, contrary to popular opinion, Gears is NOT my favorite game I've played among them. It feels like a well-designed, beautiful albeit unoriginal shooter. The game I've really enjoyed, surprisingly, is Viva Pinata. I stayed up till 2:30 playing it last night, and man...it's addicting. Oblivion's huge - don't know if I'll ever get into it very far. My kind of RPG is more like FINAL FANTASY and such. Whatev. I'm all over my 360 right now, so I'm going to download demos, trailers, trial games, and all sorts of free junk while I can and play it up!

And while we're on the subject, Nintendo should have alternate costumes, not colors. So Samus could have the Metroid Fusion suit, Wario could have his regular clothing, and Snake could look like he did in MGS3.AWWWWW YEAAAAAHHH!!!!

Street Fighter II' Turbo: Hyper Fighting. What's the apostrophe? I just got the game on the Wii VC (shouldn't have...waste of money) and I just want to understand the name.

My collection is now updated to show my older games too. Hopefully I'll get the "Old School" Emblem, because I definitely deserve it. Tell me what you think!

I decided I'm going to get a cheap Xbox 360 and try it out, see if I like it. If it's not worth keeping, I'll play the games I want to play and sell it. It'll be as if I was renting it. So...I really want to play Gears of War and The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion. That's the main stuff, although I'll definitely check out Burnout Revenge, Call of Duty 2, GRAW, and some old Xbox games. Yeah.

On a similar note, does the 360 work decently on normal television sets? I have an HDTV in my house, but it's not readily available for gaming. I've got a big screen downstairs and a 21-incher in my room. Tell me what you think.

I firmly believe that if something looks too good to be true, it almost always is. But still, those product testing things that keep popping up on here...what's the catch to the free HDTV? If all I have to do is mess around on it and see if it works well to get it, I'm all in. Anybody know about this? What do I have to give out to get it? I don't have to do fifty referrals or anything, do I?

Okay, so I really want to try out the Metroid Prime Hunters voice chat feature, but I don't have anybody I know to do it with. Does anybody want to post their friend code here? Other games I have are Clubhouse Games, Mario Kart DS, Tetris DS, Castlevania: Portrait of Ruin, and...that's it for Wi-Fi compatible games, I think. I kinda wanna get Planet Puzzle League (7.5? C'mon GameSpot...it's averaged an 8.8 so far...) and it has voice chat too. Somebody post something on here.

Okay, and for the Virtual Console...Super Mario Bros. 3, Super Metroid, Super Mario RPG, Mega Man X, Donkey Kong Country 3, Banjo-Kazooie, Banjo-Tooie, Perfect Dark, Rayman 2, Donkey Kong 64, Zelda: Majora's Mask...yeah, I'm gonna download all the games that were favorites from my youth. Then I'll consider others. I've already blown $150 on VC games...but then, I sold several of the originals first at a higher price than I got it on the Wii for...so...I didn't really spend that much. I was considering selling my Wii - in fact, I put posters around for it - but then I changed my mind. The 360 is awesome, but it's just too expensive for an HDTV and all that. Nintendo's right - the general public still doesn't really have access to HDTVs without having to make a serious investment...sure, the real game geeks with no life will pour money into the big systems, but that's not me. I'm reasonable. I have 8 GameCube games now, and 5 Game Boy Advance games. I have 11 DS games, no Wii games (except Wii Sports, of course), and a couple worthless PS2 games that I can't sell. I don't like having a vast library of games - I'm willing to sell.
