For MANY people who have left school, work and mainly game in their free time keeping a gaming pc upgraded isnt very expensive. Compared to other hobbies my friends have mine is probably cheaper eg going to the the match every home game (£50 a pop, includes transport, ticket and a few drinks before the game). Going out drinking every weekend is massive in my city, most over 18's do it every week and that is probably £50 pound a go too. Multiply this by 52. The result is keeping a top end gaming pc plus money left over so i can still go out and do ther things.
It is not an "infinite amount of money", i am not rich and manage to pay bills, have a good social life and play all my games at 2560x1440 at the highest settings.
It happens in many places. Cars cost alot more for a bit more performance. The ratio being much more harsh the higher up the ladder you look. This applies to computers too. i just count myself lucky that the top end price for my hobby (gaming) is within my budget and many other working people whos passion it is.
Phil.
