I was full of optimism for this game. After playing the first few hours I loved the cut-scene animations and overlooked the fudgy/vaseline in-game graphics. I think that most of the budget for the game was acquiring the motion-capture hardware and research/development for that era and all its history.

The music is fantastic. The story is well fleshed out. Everything in-between becomes a bit of a chore. I did spend a fair bit of time actually exploring on-foot. There are lots of little details that can easily be missed when you are rushing about to get to the next mission. Love the collectibles. Love the weapons. I use a small shotgun and rifle combo. Packs a punch. Cars all have their quirks and love the heavy metal feel of them.

After 20 hours playing - it is half a game. A great game given another year of polish. Filling up the car, for example, could be overlooked. But I enjoyed those things where you know you can do those things if you wanted. Buying clothes, getting a haircut, going hunting (its the bayou for petes sake!) all none existent. I know this isn't GTA, but c'mon. Its based in America.

Not being able to jump in general is a major letdown except boosting over fences and set objects. So many things have to be run around just because you can't get up a 3 foot rise.

Bugs, glitches and weirdness aside; I could have loved this game. But its reminding me of No Man's Sky. An ocean wide and an inch deep. Pretty soon I might just watch all the cut-scenes on Youtube and be done with it. Just to get some closure.

@Acillatem1993: What? Like Arkham Knight broken? Like being lied and deceived to like No Man's Sky? I think your standards needs a patch, dude.

GTA IV and V are "prettier" open-worlds, but they were broken (and still are to an extent) for a good year after (eventual PC) release. I couldn't even play GTA V with the amount of CTD's and social club connection problems for 2-3 months.

Go get a refund if you can ... I'd say "Sorry, you're not happy", but not my game to apologize for. Game on.

Mafia 3 is really great. Game code is pretty clean, with a few tweaks will be solid. Few glitches here and there, but considering the amount of detail happening on screen its still very immersive. Lots of physics happening and small details. Walking into shops is so much nicer than square shaped building that actually don't have anything inside them. The amount of places you can jimmy open doors and find collectibles in furnished rooms is actually amazing.

Kids these days are spoiled rotten. No respect for the amount of detail. Forget the graphics (and 30fps hiccup which was fixed in 2 days!) for one f-k-ing second and really look at the history unfolding. All that research, time and energy for creating something you can only whine about pretty pixels. Open your mind.

@effinjay: Its the head camera centering. Her head controls the screen view movement but her controller controls the direction movement. Sometimes you can only turn your head so far in a 360 environment, so she has a button to center it when she's turned her head too far. Good for those in a chair/couch that doesn't rotate.

The Hydra Razer had a similar feature.

Yeah ... sure ... because ALL games that were made into movies worked so well ... what could go wrong doing the reverse?

*However*

Judge Dredd in a GTA theme style game would be so f***ing AWESOME though! Long as he never takes off his helmet. Imagine the helmet mods :D

Love DarthRevenX idea for his comment below. On to something seriously cool there!

At least he ended the series in a way that could be considered an ending. Far too many franchises these days don't know where the finish line is. I think ending his work there was a smart move. There will always be more work, but family must always be first. And; you can't look after family when you can't even look after yourself. Infinite is a very psychologically deep game.

I think I will play it again because I flipped "tails" and the twins want to know why.

Looks extremely interesting. Hopefully it will be stable. I think it'll tell an interesting story.

No ... I have no opinion on race or creed. It's a game. Have a nice day.
