Underworld: Evolution Rating: R Length: About 1 hr 40 min.

1st movie review.

Underworld: Evolution is the second in a triogly. They were comics, and then adapted to the big screen.

STORY (minor spoilers about the 1st): Underworld is about a secret war, unkown to humans, between Vampires and Lycans (werewolfs). This battle has been raging on for centuries. The movies are about a vampire, Sellina, and a man, Micheal. Sellina is a "Death Dealer", she goes and kill the Lycans. Micheal gets bite by a Lycan, and starts to transform, for some reason, since most people bit die. Normally, Sellina would just kill him, but instead she helps him, to find out what the Lycans want with him. It turns out that he is a decendent of the oldest (and only) half vampire -Lycan. So, near the end of the first, Sillena bites Micheal, and he becomes to second half Vampire - Lycan. Then they kill a few vampires, and run away. This leads up to the story in this one. Since they are no longer friendly with either clan, they're on the run. Worse, they have the head vampire, Markus, trying to get something from them, and kill them. That something is a key to his brother's William (the first Lycan) 's prison. The difference between William and the new Lycans are that William is stuck in the werewolf form, while the other's can change between human and werewolf.

That's a pretty good summary of the 1st one. Still, I'd recommend see that one first.

What to expect: This movie is an action movie. There are quite a few action scenes, more than in the previous movie. But there aren't as many scenes with guns, there's a lot more hand-to-hand in this one. They are very well done (like when Selinna gets attacked by a werewolf in a small tunnel) overall, but one or two looked kinda of bad.

Reason for Rating: If you are planning on watching this with your kids, you might wanna rethink. There's not too much cussing, but there is tons of blood. The blood looks pretty relistic also, so you may want to rethink. Also, there are a few sex scenes, but if kids are around, you could fast forward, I guess.

Overall: This was a pretty good movie. There was a lot of good action scenes in it, didn't overload on cussing (I can't stand where they cuss every other word [Jarhead, I'm talking about you]), and it had a good story.

MY RATING: 9/10

BUT REMEMBER TO WATCH THE 1ST, FIRST!!!!!
