Perhaps a patch coming for PC for online. Everything else you said sounds spot on.

Surely that is a good thing? If you don't realise it's there, it can't be too bad without it.
For instance, I'm playing GT6 right now, I'm getting cars at a fast rate, there is very little grinding needed, certainly no more than past games; and not once has the game even visibly shown that microtransactions exist. To get them, you have to go out of your way on the PS Store.
Yes, there are games which are stupidly pay to win, but I don't think grouping all games with micro transactions together as one evil unit is the right thing to do.
EDIT: If there wasn't such a hoo-ha about the micro transactions in GT6 recently, I wouldn't even have known they existed.
True, MS made it harder on Forza 5. However pay to win is crossing the line to me. Got a problem with that? Tough shit.
Fair enough, but with those standards I guess you don't play many games at all these days.
For instance: Burnout Paradise: 'pay to win'
every Battlefield since Bad Company 1: 'pay to win'
Forza 5: 'pay to win'
Grand Theft Auto V: 'pay to win'
Almost every Need For Speed since the second Shift game 'pay to win'
You pretty much can't escape it
I didn't buy any of those except GTA and the pay to win was online only and they gave me cash which I haven't even tried using yet. So your point is buy any game even with microtransactions even if they greatly help players. Tell people not to buy them which hasn't helped at all. OK got ya but you are not helping things.
No, my point is actually don't boycott entire games just because they have micro transactions, because in todays games, you will end up missing out on the vast majority of good games.
I only have a problem with games with micro transactions if they effectively have chunks of the game hidden behind them, or you have to grind a lot to achieve the same otherwise.
Like a mathematical formula with certain exceptions catered to your likeness. Got ya, um maybe not.
No, I just don't group every single game with micro transactions into a singular evil pot unlike you seem to.
There are varying levels to how micro transactions are used, just as it was for dlc, it;s a spectrum.
On one end you have timesaver micro transactions (which even has it's own scale of to how much is it used), where you can still easily obtain everything in the game, just sometimes it takes some time (but still shorter time than days of old where some games would have you grinding for hours on end regardless without even the option of time savers)
On the other end you have whole parts of the game locked off, such as in Plants Vs Zombies 2, where about half the plants are locked behind a paywall. And along with that, you also have the true 'pay to win' microtransactions, where players are able to have unfair advantages in online games, usually MMOs.
You could have an unfair online disadvantage if going up against somebody in GT6 especially this early in the game. I don't see your point.
No. No you really cannot. Every race has restrictions, every car you enter has to abide by those restrictions, you are really trying to reach here. It's really not the same.
And by you ignoring what I said, I'm guessing you agree with me, that there is a spectrum to micro transactions? Well, I'm assuming you must do anyway, since you bought GTA5 even though you avoid all games with micro transactions.
Yes but you can buy those cars within the restriction guidelines of your online races.
Who buys GTA for online? Didn't buy it for it and like I said, I haven't even spent a penny of the 500K or was it 250K? I don't remember didn't look.

As long as most devs use the GT6 model (aka completely optional and doesn't change the game structure in any way) I'm fine with it. If they start making games Pay to Win then it'll be end of classic gaming as we know it.
The model will change. EA has been doing it for years and Sony and MS can see what they are buying when going to the store. I'm afraid it will worse faster than better.
Don't purchase any microtransactions of any kind.
Hopefully it will die down a little.
This doesn't work as some people will. Have to hold the majority gamers to not buy the game.
Not buying the entire game is going too far though, the game itself could be amazing, if a game gets lackluster sales, the dev just won't make anymore like it, the microtransaction part will likely remain in the next title however.
It would be sending a message. Most of the big games have microtransactions and it's turning into pay to win lately. When a game sells big, microtransactions are just icing on the cake and you will see them in every big game. I am not buying GT6 for this reason.
It is sending a message yes, but it's also sending the wrong message.
It's saying to the devs: no one wants your game, don't make anymore of them;
whereas it should be saying: we like your game, please make more, but we don't want any of this microtransaction crap.
People will still buy the game just less and proof starts with me not buying GT6. The majority of gamers won't realize there is pay to win.
Surely that is a good thing? If you don't realise it's there, it can't be too bad without it.
