Reminds me of The Last Samurai. An American-made production about Feudal Japan that was very well-received in Japan, but not quite as well-received in the West.

The success of Tsushima in Japan also coincides with the record-breaking success of the Demon Slayer manga/anime franchise in Japan. There's been a major revival of Japanese interest in pre-modern Japanese settings, so Tsushima came along at just the right time. But then again, it could just be part of a wider global revival, with Feudal Japan games like Nioh, Sekiro and Tsushima just as successful in the West.

I'm pretty Demon Slayer is supposed to take place in the Meiji or Taisho Era (I do get your point though).

Recently I'd probably go with:

  • Capcom
  • From Software
  • Platinum Games
  • Nintendo
  • Arc Systems Works

Maybe also Team Ninja but I haven't played the Nioh games yet.

Rockstar exists. They haven't made an interesting game since San Andreas and those games gameplay from that gen weren't good either.

Why is TheQuartering popular again?

Anyway, I think I'll see what the overall consensus is from friends and other reviewers in the gaming press and on YouTube. Maybe I'll play it during the holidays but I doubt it will be on sale anytime soon.

FYI SWs: a 7/10 is a good score.

I like the overall direction they are going. I just wish they invested in their other franchises outside of the typical ones or that they make a new IP (Sea of Thieves was a start).

A new TV and some Steam games. The new consoles don't interest me yet.
