[QUOTE="II_Seraphim_II"]And I know a lot more you arent. Most of us are too preoccupied with how much debt we will be in for the rest of our lives due to damn student loans :xMaddy_KLook, I'm not trying to make people who aren't self-sufficient by 18 feel bad. The thread asked for opinions, and I'm giving mine. I have spent a few semesters now working full time, taking 19 semester hour loads, doing honors projects and holding management positions in department associations, and volunteering at our research hospital. This summer is the first time I've had much free time on my hands in over two years. I've got student loans, too, but being preoccupied by them doesn't do you any good. Hard work pays off, everyone's just got to remember that.
I am pretty sure that either way, you had connections, some of it is that.... Your parents did not just sort of "not care what you do." I mean think about it, a car, a apartment, student loans, and you have all those classes.... I mean I worked like 30 hours a week just so I could get a car two weeks before college. Still a manager position at 17? I could not even work at my current job until I was 18. Your definately putting yourself in there, but most people would not be able to do that if they wanted to, and most people are not able to do that much schooling. Then again, not sure if I would want to be you. Then when the whole economic situation factors in, I would say you have to have connections that most people do not have directly, or indirectly.
A lot of the people that do really good in school is because their parents actually helped them when they were kids, made sure they were smart to be precise.
Fging thread, I just worked nine hours doing hard labor, thought I was doing pretty good in my life, now I feel worthless again....:x
