[QUOTE="LoG-Sacrament"]

i recommend against a catcher in the rye. anyway, you should read some kafka if you havent already. the metamorphosis is one of his best works and also happens to be one of his most approachable (mostly because it was finished :P ).

i know youre a cs lewis fan. while its not a classic, id recommend trying the book of the new sun by gene wolfe.

Theokhoth

Why do you not like CitR?

I'd rather not start a new book series at the moment, but I do plan to check out BotNS eventually.

Don't skip Catcher. A lot of people will tell you it's an emo book as it is branded nowadays, but it's not. If that is what people got from it then they missed the book's essence.

Getting drunk starts from that one sip where you are conscious. That's why everyone tells you to drink responsibly. If you know it's your first time drinking or that you are weak against alcohol make sure you have responsible people there like a sibling or good friend to make sure you don't do anything retarded.

[QUOTE="Tjeremiah1988"] I understand that. Ive run into many people who havent graduated college to know more, depending on the circumstance, than a college graduate. They have their qualified certificate, yet fail. I also notice a lot of college students cheat during test, etc. Tjeremiah1988

Yes, the test is not 100% acurate of ones abillities. When you start work, it all comes down to yourself whether you fail or succeed. But the degree is the ticket to allow you do land a decent job in the first place.

oh ok, I see what your saying.

Also bear in mind that knowing more doesn't mean you actually know what to do in any circumstance. For example in science or math related degrees a lot of the time knowledge =/= intelligence; you have to deal with abstract and theoretical situations. No matter how much you study from a book, you need the experience, intuition and discipline instilled in university/college to work through them. Uni/college also helps you build a network of people leading to more jobs than what you start with. Trust me on this. I know a few people who went to school just to meet people.

Since both of you are in college you both should be busy with your own life. I know it may sound odd, but you'll probably rarely see each other especially if you guys don't have the same majors. And I hope that you're not an immature guy, TC unlike many here. Just give each other space and respect and it'll work well. Don't treat her so weirdly by making such a big deal of things.

Will I stick by them? Yes, but before we get married I'd make sure that everything is sorted out and that my potential spouse isn't suffering from gambling addictions or w/e else that leads to large debts.

It's one thing to marry, but you have to look at everyone in the picture like future children. They don't deserve having to suffer for someone's problems. So I say to stick by them and help them out first, THEN marry.

Ditto. I don't see it as much of a hindrance.

Unless you want to play baseball.

Not if it's a backhand swing! :P I actually saw a one-handed guy swing and he had pretty good form and force. I can understand the balance issues though.
