[QUOTE="CanYouDiglt"]Andrew Prokhorov, creative director on Metro: Last Light at developer "Anyone expecting Metro: Last Light as a PS4 launch game is probably going to be disappointed..." Andrew Prokhorov, creative director on Metro: Last Light at developer 4A Games, recently had the nuance of his words lost in translation, according to publisher Deep Silver. The ITCChannel interview allegedly shook out details about a version of Metro: Last Light for PS4, the release of a software development kit (SDK) for Metro and downloadable content details. "It is no secret that 4A Games do want to release an SDK for Metro, finish the extremely promising multiplayer component and release this in some form, and investigate a PlayStation 4 version provided it makes commercial sense," a Deep Silver representative informed Joystiq. "Although no development has started on any next-gen console versions [of Metro: Last Light]. We have confirmed these hopes and ideas plenty of times before." The statement continues, "However, all these ideas are just ideas at the moment. It will be some time before we can officially commit to any of these projects or suggest when they might materialize. They genuinely might all happen, but equally none of them might happen. Anyone expecting Metro: Last Light as a PS4 launch game is probably going to be disappointed..."Frostbite24
Uh Oh! First cows are like, "Meh, looks generic I much prefer Killzone." Then it seems it is announced for PS4, "OMG best game ever, so glad it is coming out on PS4, superior version confirmed!" Now that it has been disproven, "Meh looks generic I much prefer Killzone..."

Honestly, you are right. Most of the PS3 gamers on here are very hypocritical. They go on about how little graphics matter, then suddenly BF3 looks slightly better on PS3, and they end up in a graphics debate over the most minute details, about something they supposedly don't care about. You will see the same thing with Last Light.

On a sidenote, it sounds like we will still be getting an SDK. As a modder, this is great news.

@ Nathan Drake Swag - Really, thousands a year ? I spent roughly $700 on my pc about a year and a half ago, and I have maxed out everything to this day. Including Crysis 3. By the way, chances are people aren't going to listen to someone that has "SWAG" in their username

Maybe 60 FPS but who needs 1440p, there arent any HDTVs on thre market that reach that resolution anyway so why does that matter.  1080p is just fine to most people.  Not like you can really see the difference anyway.

comptonst88

Hmm downplaying PC advantages in an attempt to rationalize PS4's short  commings.  Wouldn't that be damage control?

Not really downplaying anything, but considering that pretty much every HDTV on the market is a 1080p screen, 1440p is not really a big factor when you consider resolution.  Besides, Im willing to bet that the difference between 1080p and 1440p is indistinguishable to the human eye anyway.

You would be surprised, the difference is definitely noticeable.

Here is a shot of the game I am making taken at 1600x800, below is a shot of a similar area at 2500x1600, I would post an identical shot in both resolutions, but it takes a while to get CE3 and a level loaded to take a pic, so I settled with this.

ALL, excellent, excellent composers. These guys have real vision and flair.

Agreed. I also heard that Alfredo Hitcock and Sarumon Legolas are supposed to be pretty good. Too far ? It had to happen at some point :P

But seriously, I would swear by Toshio Hiroshima, he is an amazing composer.

I really love Martin O'Donnell and Hans Zimmer's (I'm referring to his video game work, but his movie work is amazing as well) stuff. ShaineTheNerd

Completely agree these are one of the select few who impress me.

It's very hard to compare this when you consider how long games have been around, and how much game music has evolved. While I may love the classic Zelda NES theme, or Mega Man 2, it doesn't really compare to modern music, specifically the ochestra instilled in some modern games.

I could probably write a book on music in movies, but I am a little less clear on music in games. Crysis 2's music, specifically the Hans Zimmer songs are some of the best I have heard in a long time though. Crysis 3 also has a few standout songs that are really incredible. Maybe including a Hans Zimmer song is a little cheap though, considering he is one of the best modern composers.

worldsucknow

No modern music truly sucks and you are being fooled by improved sound processors...the actual songwriting is suckier now. You could take that crysis symphony song and turn it into midi file here is example. lol that's one of the suckiest one of the poorest structure songs i ever heard. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WL9qdhRkcbk

I really hope you are joking. I don't know what's funnier, the fact that you are trying to say Hans Zimmer's, one of the greatest modern composers, makes "sucky" music, or your overuse of the word "sucky". Next you are probably going to tell me that John Williams "sucks"!

Get back to me when you have a resume that is half as good as Zimmer's.

IMGUR ruining the screens again, Anyway, I think Metro will obviously look better than Crysis 3, So far, The only thing bad it has is low res PS3 textures.

Maybe the top one, but Imgur definitely didn't compress the bottom 3, they look just like the original ones. For my pictures, I use fraps and take PNG's, I then convert them to JPG, and upload them.

I am still undecided on whether Crysis 3, Metro Last Light, or BF4 will look better, or more photorealistic I guess. Crysis 3's second level is probably the most photorealistic thing I have seen in a game to date, certain parts of the game blew me away visually. I loved C3's gameplay, but the story was lacking. At times it seemed very human, but most of the time, it seemed very sensationalized, or melodramatic. Psycho wouldn't stop whining about that bloody nanosuit! :x

Metro Last Light looks incredible, I will have to play it to decide if it beats Crysis 3 though, I won't be completely surprised if it does, but that's still a pretty lofty goal.

The thing that surprised me the most, is the fact that Crysis 3, Metro, and BF4 beat the best looking next gen games(KZ:SF) shown so far without much trouble. I guess I expected a little more, but PS4's visuals are good enough for me to pick one up for the exclusives.

Also, PS3 textures ? There are a few bad textures here and there, but for the most part Last Light's textures are excellent

I take it the 690 is to max it at 60fps? I fit into recommended, actually on the higher side so I should be good at max near 40 I reckon

I am guessing it's probably to max it at 50-60 fps. It looks like this will be pretty close to Crysis 3's requirements. Speaking of that, which one do you think will be graphics king when all is said and done ?

Here are some Crysis 3 shots I just took to compare. I probably should have uploaded my video of this area, it is pretty amazing in game. Both games look so real at times.

Graphics are the farthest thing from as gimmick, they are the building block of all games. I am working on a open world game with CE3. I have ran the game on a pc with similar hardware to current consoles, and it was extremely limiting to say the least, for starters I could only run the game on the lowest settings, and it still was under 10 fps the whole time. I have a pc running it with a GTX 570, and the benefits of the better hardware are huge. I am creating battles in the streets of Chicago with hundreds of men. This amount of AI is simply not possible on consoles. Ther is a significant jump on everything each gen. Do you think MAG would have run on PS2 ? Do you think ARMA 3(270km map), or Planetside 2(thousands of players at once) would run on PS3 ? BF3 on pc is 64 players, on consoles it's 24, clearly, better hardware, and better graphics are very important.
