Your argument was that Gamerankings isn't credible because they allow sites with the names Xbox and PlayStation to contribute to the averaged scores of exclusive games, giving them unfair advantages.
Then, as you so conveniently ignored and dismissed, I went on to show you that one of the lowest reviews for Uncharted 3 was done by TotalPlayStation, while neutral sites like IGN and Gamespot gave the game 9.5/10 and 10/10.

Everyone lost on hardware and software which was the main way of making money back then (with barely any actual gamers) people didn;t give up on it they thought it was pointless, because it WAS. You had huge tons of games coming out from the competition tryintg to beat Atari while those companies and Atari allowed their games on the competitors consoles, while the competitiors consoles allowed or had an attachment to allow you to play the competitiors games whether better or worse than the original, and they also not only as mentioned, make or port games on the competitors console, they even made exclusives on their competitors consoles. If I could play all Ps3 and Wii games on the 360 for example what would be the point of having 3 consoles costing hundreds of dollars with tons of games if I can in theory play all the games with the better controller? What if Nintendo released Metroid Prime trilogy on the PS3 as an exclusive, and then Onlive made a PS3 clone that could play Wii and Ps3 games? That;s why it rashed that is the number one reason why devs and 1st parties lost money, so what comparision you were trying to make before is invalid because if this happened today, well actually, it KIND OF is in some form but still.. Tons of games were coming out...but many weren't being released by actual development houses. They were individuals, who knew very little about programming, but tried to cash in on this new phenomenon called gaming, and were making these crap games in their garage. The public didn't know what was a good game, and what wasn't. All they had to go by were the pretty boxart. E.T. is generally regarded, as the beginning of the end for the initial console gaming wave.
I can't for the foggiest reason understand how you could say that the industry crashed because of "multiplats..." which is what you are pretty much saying by stating a console's exclusive could be played on the a competing console. The industry crashed because gamers stopped gaming.
IT CRASHED because of the lack of profit form fp hardware and software and the continued way to resolve this was for people to put their games on competitors consoles eliminating quality controls allowing the bad devs as you said to keep increasing in height because they had enough money to keep making more copies of games across all platforms. Yes, there was no way to tell a good or bad game at that point but almost all at the time wee bad because those were the companies that had the money to crap copies out the wazoo. Eventually, they just couldn't do anything, it was pointless, nobody was making money, you kept getting the same games, you couldn't tell quality anymore, it turned into a cash-in for greed, so yes, gamers stopped gaming, but devs and pubs were already loosing money at that point anyway, when the gamers stopped gaming, that's when the real panic during the crash started, but not the direct cause of the start of the crash.Because your are unintelligent.
