The wii is a great console, i'm a Playstation 2 head and i've loved it and i bought my children a wii at christmas and my god we have more fun as a family on the wii and i've gone out and bought Zelda which is an amazing and beautiful game, now this console is perfect for familes and children and gamers who have the kid in them.
If the wii fail, we will lose millions of gamers in the next gen, what will the kids start on, gears of war. These games are not made for everyone.
I wouldn't even wanner play GTA or Gears of wars, the only reason i'm getting a 360 is because of Mass effect, BD and trusty bell but i can't play these with the family, me and my daughters can't wait for Boogie, Mario strikers, Super Paper Mario and a few other games, the new controls are a breath of freah air.
An example
In zelda i has to do sumo to get the next cutscene, and i was sitting down and struggling so i thought why not stand up and do it, so i did, got in a sumo mode and put all my effort into it and i done it first time and the smile on my face cos the move was wonderful and i felt more part of the game.
The world need the wii. Would you rather your kid played on the ps3 or 360 or the wii cos the wii is magical while the ps3 and the 360 is hardcore and everyone need to start somewhere.

Real gamers don't want the Wii to fail. Real gamers don't want any of the systems to fail. I want them all to succeed. I'm a bit worried about PS3's future and I won't be buying that system, but that doesn't mean I want it to fail. The people who want a certain system to fail are morons, children, corporate tools, or some freakish combination of all three. That being said, I think the Wii is doing great and will continue to do well.
