Thats not a mistake though, thats like knocking Halo 3 for not having the depth and story of a top notch RPG. Even the bestRPG's generally have downright weak and boring combat, based around the player selecting an option, and then using stat-based probability to determine the effect of that option. Most RPGs in essenceplay like a game of pad-and-paper D&D. As Peter Molyneux so eleoquently said about combat in RPGs "Its ****". Sosaying Mass Effecthas "standard FPS fare" is actually a back handed complement, because had the writer actually known Mass Effect is a RPG he would have known how big a step forward the combat in Mass Effect is for the genre.[QUOTE="SillyManimal"]They said that "The gameplay looks like your standard FPS fare", well the difference betweenFPS andTPS is basically just the view. So, they lose credibility because of that little mistake?PBSnipes
The point isthe writer wrote this preview apparently expecting Halo or CoD, meaning he clearly knows nothing about the game. He also based his preview
But, looking at the paragraph, you can tell that he was talking about that combat andapart from the view, FPS and TPS aren't that different.
