Ok, I know that this is an old topic but I did not want to start a new one.

Your question is "Why is there this misconception that science and religion contradict each other?"

There is no misconception there is only fact.

I will try to show both sides of the argument.

Religion: The Bible states that the Universe was created by God.

Creation Theory: God created the Universe and all that it contains in 6 days.

Science: Science states that the Universe was created by a Big Bang.

Big Bang Theory:In the beginning, a fireball of radiation at extremely high temperature and density, but occupying a tiny volume, is believed to have formed. This expanded and cooled, extremely fast at first, but more slowly as subatomic particles condensed into matter that later accumulated to form galaxies and stars. The galaxies are currently still retreating from one another. What was left of the original radiation continued to cool and has been detected as a uniform background of weak microwave radiation.

We cannot really decide which side is correct or not.

The Bible time line shows that the Earth and Universe are only 5000-6000 years old.

Before I go on though let me ask you a question...

Do you believe the basic elements and laws of Science?

Now we come into a small problem that I have yet to find a religious person able to answer.

We know that the speed of light is roughly 299,792 km per second in a vacuum.

That means that light from one of the farthest stars from earth in the Milky Way Galaxy is over 18,500 years old. (The star I was talking about is 30,000 light years away.)

There is no way that the Universe is only 5000-6000 years old when light from distant stars is taking over 10000 years to reach our human eyes.

I am not saying I believe Science over religion nor am I saying that I believe Religion over Science, I am just saying that Religion needs to step back and look at the facts a little and Science needs to stop pushing the idea that there was no intelligent design.

Who is to say that God/Intelligent Designer did not cause and use the Big Bang to make the Universe.

So on an end note Science and Religion will never coincide.

I recently purchased Call of Duty 4 and popped it in to my xbox, well single player would not work, it said that the disk was dirty. So then I took it out and cleaned it and tried again and again and again. My brother happens to notice two rings going around the disk, one towards the center and another one about 1 inch apart from the center 1.

Anyway, I took it back to Gamestop and they told me my Xbox 360 laser was burning the rings onto the disk is this true?

Yes, I think that our Governments lie to us. They don't really care about their people, to them its about money and power.

Off-Topic:

I like that saying from the movie "V for Vendetta"

"The people need not fear the Government, its the Government that needs to fear the people!"
