YAY, i just got Bleach Heat The Soul 5!! Yay...hmm, or not. I was looking forward to this game, but i'm afraid i was slightly dissapointed (for full details look at my review here).
I was really suprised when i read the manga - I KNEW Tessai was part of the Shinigami - i just didn't think he'd be the Cheif of the Kido division - i thought he would be a Vice-captain or something. And wh finally found out where Hachi was! Ohh, *drools* and Kensei's hollow form, *drools more* so cool!
I have no coment for the Anime. I'm just waiting to see what the story is developing into before i sink my teeth into it.
Oh, and i joined The Gotei 13 Union!! I'm a 4th seat in the 4th squad (Unohana taicho) and i'm 6th commander (Hachigen) in the 15th Squad (Vizard, under Urahara taicho). YAY!!! My Zanpakuto is awesome, too :)
Well, its been quite a while since i wrote anything - and so much has happened!
The Bleach anime left for about 2 weeks, finally coming back on long enough to finish Ichigo and Grimmjow's fight. Last weeks episode looked great - the animation was fantastic - this week...it was ok. At times it looked a little half-assed, but it was good nonetheless. I thought the ending was shockingly bad - but seeing as how they're dumping fillers right in the middle of an action-packed arc...i guess its ok... Yay, from here on in its all fillers - goodness knows how long this arc's gonna be dragged out for, but i'm thinking they're introducing a new captain...it'll be a long ride - he may even carry over into the actual story (manga) - he may be standing in Karakura Town with the other captains (shudder, it'll be just like the damn mod souls/stuffed toys). The Manga has since diverted into a history arc - and its freakin awesome - we're finally getting some answers, yet still more questions are raised - the manga is still one of the best!
I recently got a bunch of PSP games; Bleach Heat the Soul 4 (think i already said that before), Lemmings (brings back so many memories), Lumines (fun Tetris substitute thats nice and difficult), Daxter (awesome game - looks amazing), The Simpsons Game (Funny...but...gameplay annoyed me), Ratchet and Clank Size Matters (Fantastic - still need to finish it perfectly), Yu-Gi-Oh GX Tag Force 2 (Very fun - but i used someone elses game save...i like having all the cards!) and, the newest Patapon (one of the best and most addictive games i've ever played)...
so after all that...my eyes kinda hurt...oh, well! I'll just read more Bleach :)
Night Side of Abduction is one of the best chapters so far - not because someone is fighting but because the story is progressing. As Aizen prepares to move to the real world Kaname uses Bakudo #77 and lets Aizen talk with all of the "Good guys". He congradulates them on their victories against the Espada and anounces that he's going to attack the real world. He states that he no longer has any use for Inoue and that they can attempt to rescue her. Aizen explains that he kidnapped her to scare Soul Society into bulking up their own forces and to lure Ichigo into Hueco Mundo - leaving the material world defenceless. He also manages to trap the four captains that had arrived to help in Hueco Mundo by sealing the Garganta they used to get there. Ishida askes Mayuri if they can get out, but Mayuri explains that only a person with sufficient knowledge of the Garganta can open it - Urahara Kisuke. As they have no means of communicating with him, they are stuck. Aizen states that the Gotei 13's defences have been cut in half, with 3 captains defected and now 4 sealed in Hueco Mundo. He says that after they're done making the Ouken (King's Key) they'll deal with the "rescuers" at their own leasure. Ichigo begins to run somewhere but Kenpachi yells at him, telling him that there is nothing he can do. Ichigo protests but Kenpachi says that Yamamoto gave Urahara some tasks to complete - first to create a path for captains to Hueco Mundo and Second to make sure that every captain would be ready to fight in Karakura town. The chapter ends with the remaining captains (Hitsugaya, Yamamoto, Soi Fon, Kyōraku, Komamura and Ukitake) with some of their Lieutenants (Matsumoto (10th), Iba (7th), Ōmaeda (2nd) and Sasakibe (1st), standing in mid-air in Karakura town waiting for Aizen. CAN'T WAIT FOR NEXT WEEK!!
Wow, Bleach 164 Ishida's Strategy, the 20-second Offense and Defense was released yesterday, and i have to say it is so far one of the best episodes since they started this arc. The episode centeres around Ishida and Renji's fight against Szayel Aporro Granz. The fight sequence is actually pretty good (even though stuff like blood has still been toned down) and is one of my favourite combo attacks - the other being Rukia's Kido combo against Aaroniero Arruruerie. I was a little dissapointed that when Szayel ate Lumiina, Lumiina turned into a purple ball - as opposed to just being eaten alive (that would have been cool).
Its also clear to see that with Kon missing Pesce and Dondochakka are trying their best to fill his shoes.
Grimmjow brought Orihime to Ichigo to heal his wounds and Ulquiorra found them. Can't wait for next weeks episode - we get to see Grimmjow and Ulquiorra's "fight", and then Ichigo and Grimmjow's fight. Grimmjow also fires the Gran Rey Cero - i hope it looks and sounds awesome - i have high expectations for this attack - but it looks like he fires it at the end of the episode becasue episode 166's title is Desperate Effort vs. Desperate Effort! The Hollowized Ichigo, and ichigo stops that attack by transforming into a hollow, and (going by the manga) Grimmjow should release straight away, too. Its starting to get really good now - i just hope that they animate it properly - WE NEED BLOOD, PEOPLE!!!!
WOW!!!! This week's chapter blew me away!! Kenpachi and Nnoitra's fight ended, Kenpachi the winner. It showed more insight into Nnoitra's past. Tesla is still alive. Kenpachi throws Ichigo towards his sword and tells Orihime to heal his (Kenpachi's) wounds, but as she runs towards him, Stark appears from nowhere and puts his hand on Orihime. Both Kenpachi and Ichigo attack but both Stark and Orihime have dissapeared. Orihime is standing in front of a flight of stairs with Tousen, Gin and Aizen standing at the top. Aizen gets close to Orihime and tells her to smile. A hole to the real world opens up behind Gin and Tousen and Aizen states that they "will return shortly. As soon as [they] lay waste to Karakura Town..."
Bleach 163 - Shinigami and Quincy, the Battle with Madness was released today. It features Grimmjow's "rescue" of Orihime and Ishida starting to fight Szyael and his fraccion. Overall its a ... good episode nothing too gripping but its not (too) boring, either.
Once again the episode was toned down - Lolly and Melloly beating up Orihime was reduced to a slap from one of them. Grimmjow didn't break Lolly's leg - instead he ... well he did something to her, i just don't know what... his foot came towards the screen. I've said it a milion times before, but the black blood is really anoying, plus the characters are drawn differently within the epiosde - Grimmjow being a main example; he just continuously looks different during his scene.
Next week should be ... good. Grimmjow finds Ichigo and Renji and Ishida should begin their attack against Szayel. I just hope they don't butcher Grimmjow and Ulquiorra's little fight as well as Ichigo and Grimmjow's fight.
This week's Bleach episode was mainly about Renji's fight with the 8th Espada - BUT first up was Ichigo's fight with Ulquiorra! It was...interesting. Ulquiorra's Cero was green (I didn't know that they could change the colour of it) and after he fired it at Ichigo and Ichigo was running away with Nel, Ichgo was supposed to be covered in blood - but he was covered in dark lines instead. Ishida showed up at the end of the Episode, so he's gonna start helping Renji - in a few weeks we'll get to see Ichigo Vs. Grimmjow!!!
The Chapter was cool. It had a flash-back to Nnoitra's past...and Nell was there again. Nnoitra's Zanpakuto was still only a single cresent moon blade. Kenpachi won the fight and Nnoitra fell to the ground looking at Nell - with Nell saying Nnoitra's name. Next week there's a new enemy apearing!!! Hopefully its Ulquiorra or maybe one of the top three will step in...
311 came out Saturday and it was pretty cool. Kenpachi is still fighting Nnoitra (who has 6 arms now). The chapter was pretty much just them fighting with Kenpachi looking a ton of blood and getting slashed and stabbed some more. We get a small lookinto when Kenpachi had to do after he joined the Gotei 13 protection squads - its seems as though he's gonna fight seriously...yay!!
I didn't want to believe it but the truth has been staring me in the face - Bleach's quality has deteriorated...QUITE a bit. I've been watching the first few episodes (11-40) over the past few days, and today the latest one came out (161) and the difference was painfully obvious. The animation quality has declined quite a bit (this episode wasn't too bad). In the first 3 arcs the animation was more or less of a consistent high quality, however during the Bount arcs the quality would vary - this continued during the Arrancar arc (there were a few episodes with outstanding quality) and up to now. What's happened?
The music has changed completely - not a bad thing, but its not like before... The extra effects (transformations, special attacks, blood) have become pitiful. Ichigo calling forth his mask looks terrible (as does the mask), for some reason the mask is nothing like how it was during the Soul Society arcs. Fight scenes look dull with no real...oompf. I dunno what's going on now but what is with the BLOOD?!?!? Or should i say 'pitiful lack there of'? Since when does a few black lines down a person's face represent blood?! DRY blood maybe, after a battle...but not during it!!! Once of the (many) reasons why Bleach was so good during the first 3 arcs was because of all the blood...it would pour out, run down and drip... now? If someone is cut a small amount of black (or verydark red) blood will jump out then turn to lines that makes them look as if they're covered in dirt - not blood. WHY has this been toned down so much?!
The amount of episode time has decreased dramatically too. I'll compare Episode 36 to the latest one; Episode 36 runs for 23 minutes and 9 seconds. The opening sequence lasts for 1:35, the ending for 1:05 and the preview/Kon's comments for 30 seconds. Plus 38 seconds as a small recap from last episode. That brings the total down to 19:35 of new stuff. Episode 161 runs for 22:04. Opening, 1:30; recap from previous episodes, 3:30; replayed footage (outside of recap), 0:33; ending, 1:30; preview+Shinigami's Cup, Golden, 0:44. Altogether, the new stuff being shown lasts for 16:17 - a massive loss compared to older episodes. For some reason we now need massive recaps of previous episodes and need to be shown the same thing every episode (eg. RUKIA'S FIGHT!!). I want my 3+ minutes of anime back!!!!
The anime has also been changing the events that happen in the manga. Obviously it can't stick to it perfectly, although it was doing a very good job of it prior to the Bount Arc, but changing the order of fights (Rukia's), adding in pointless filler episodes and altering events is just ... ... why would you do that? In the latest episode Yammi is shown as having received the news that Aaroniero died - he is never seen in the Manga - in fact the last time we saw Yammi (up to current chapter) was back at the Espada meeting with Aizen! Also when Stark is shown, Lilinette wakes him up my shoving her fist in his mouth...then she jumps on him and tickles him...in the manga she does something to his balls (Wikipedia says by "squeezing his testicles") [as a side note nothing is shown, just a panel with speech bubbles]. The adult-ish and sexual themes have been removed and replaced with kiddie jokes...sigh, its all too much...
I want my Bleach back...not this watered down version that's being aired now. If this is how its gonna be from now on...I may just stop watching it and rely on the manga. I just can't stand seeing a good Manga being butchered, especially one as good a Bleach...
Hooray! The latest manga chapter was released. 310 Four Arms To Killing You is a cool chapter. Kenpachi and Nnoitra's fight continues. Orihime shows some extra power. When Nnoitra is about to attack Yachiru, Orihime (who is healing Ichigo), runs towards Yachiru and places a barrier around her. Ichigo tries to run after Orihime, but is repelled back by sometihng...Shun Shun Rikka?
Next week's should be cool.
Plant Tycoon is still keeping me busy, i've got 3 out of the 6 plants, yay! I've FINALLY reached the second part of Yu-Gi-Oh GX Tag Force Evolution...friggen took long enough... Waiting to watch Lost.
