I do not believe Call of Duty is the best online game.

Well it wasn't released in America and most gaming media are american so No.
IGN is terrible, they gave Dead or Alive Beach Volleyball some ridiculous high score, fueling the "lonely gamer that cannot get girls" stereotype, Probably true for all the pastry virgin nerds working there.
Its all be said before, the PSP looked impressive and the DS looked like wtf....now look at where we are. Since now the smartphone market has taken up a significant share, even if they outsell the 3DS, they can never dominate the market like the DS did. And COD will not make any difference, most CoD player want to play CoD on a couch in front of their TV shouting obscenities, not tunnel visioning into a screen.
And lol@IGN talking about destinies. And when will the simple-minded realize theres a huge difference between spending $60 on a 14 hours long Uncharted 3 game which you can play on the HD TV in all its glory versus spending it on a 6 hour $40 uncharted game on a small screen.... Game reviewers probably dont care about that since they don't buy the game.
You do NOT NEED it, but pc gaming has many advantages that consoles lack, and if you can afford it its definately recommended.
1) The indie scene is much better on the pc, other then trenched(which technically isnt indie) and explosion man I can't think of any indie game I like that isn't on pc.
2)PC scene has a mod community, Games like Just Cause 2 and GTA4(already a great game on consoles) are way way better with modding
3)I prefer the mouse and keyboard setup for many games, such as RTS. for games where controller is required, both the xbox360 and the PS3 controller(with custom drivers) can be plugged into PC. A great example is Dragon Age Origins, where the game due to over the top view tactical combat(and increased difficulty to compensate) was amazing on the pc due to controls and well, not so great on consoles.
4)Emulation : yeah you can debate all you like about the legality of it, But due to emulation almost the entire history of gaming can be played on pc and in many cases with better graphics and presentation and features.
5)MMORPGS so far as been mostly successful on pcs, and PCs have also amazing free to play games like League of Legends, which is an 9/10 game where you don't have to pay a single cent if you dont want to. PC also has decent library of 100% free games.
6)PC games in many cases have better game menus and features such as quicksaving.
7)For games that support it, and if you have the requried hardware, the graphics are much much better, like Bf3.
8)PC gaming due to digital distribution is actually cheaper in many cases compared to console gaming. Steam and likewise delivery system regularly features sales.
These are the reasons I can think of,If you are only interested in playing the latest games with a controller on a big tv I guess you do not really need a pc. but that would be very obvious and if you ignore the pc you are missing out on some great games.
So was fallout 3 and oblivion, I didnt mind. As long as its not Dragon Age 2 style "console is our lead platform".

[QUOTE="Skiveron"]LOL....DAII's characters are some of Biowares best. Why? Because they have far more complex elements and personalities than the simple characters of the past. Instead of relying on one personality like most earlier Bioware characters, they are far more multidimensional and flawed. Why do you fight both last bosses anyway? To show that your choice may be wrong. The story is far from terrible, its just not an epic quest story...its far different. And Origins story sucked, its worse than DAII. The orcs are at the gate, we need to stop them before they burn everything...lol. Generic and cliched. DAII has a far smarter storyline. And lets not forget all those one dimesnional personalities for characters (who is not Leliana or Wynne). You fight both last bosses in EXACTLY same order, thats terrible story telling. How does it show my choice was wrong? you mean its saying both my choices are wrong? I think its more like "We gave you a dialogue option throughtout the game to side with templars or mages, but the end game sequence will be same, cause your choices were irrelevant. And i Guess making EMO characters is likened to "Multidimensional and Flawed"? you must really love the protagonists in most JRPGs. Actually the theme of Dragon Age origins has little to do with darkspawn, its more about choosing alliances and factions and the difficult choices you make(Which are actually different then FIGHTING LAST 2 BOSSES IN EXACTLY SAME ORDER REGARDLESS OF WHAT CHOICE YOU MAKE) when you are trying to replace the army lost at Ostagar. 10 years from now people will still talk about all the great Bioware characters from other games such as Edwin, Viconia, Alister, Morrigan, Jack, Mordin but no one will remember the "I am a tough girl and will join your party cause my husband died, and oh I am bad at flirting" Aveline.I am really not sure how you(or anyone) can possibly think that Dragon age 2 has better characters over any other well known RPGS. I played my fair share of bad JRPGS but DA2's characters beats most of them in EMO category and basically complains the entire game. Only the dwarf was any good.
Aveline has the SAME persona regardless of your choices. Tough girl in a mans world.
Anders is an EMO "WAH WAH WAH I am a mage and everyone hates me" the whole game, and for no reason at the end does that"KEEPING IT SPOILER FREE"(Yes i Like being surprised, but there should have been a valid reason if he mentioned he was going to do it and i convinced him not to but NOOOO, lets do it anyways)
Merril is the shy magic girl who looks at you like a big brother...the whole game. Even after her story arc finishes.
Fenris : anders except less crying and more action. Reminds me of Sephiroth fanboys too much.
Isabela : Slutty pirate girl who only cares about herself and brags about how smart she is at outwittting people.OH wait, no, she shows she had a heart all along at the end"KEEPING IT SPOILER FREE"...yeah too bad I saw it coming 1 hour before.
Carver : Ok, he was a bad emo character, but his decision mid-game ACTUALLY made sense.
Bethany : Meh, was ok I guess.
Overall story : Terrible, some subquests were good, and really, why do you fight the last 2 bosses in the same order regardless of your major alliance choice? did the developer literraly rush the copy to the manufacturer as the inputted the choice option?
THe worst charcaters created by Bioware ever.
Only thing good about Dragon Age 2 was that it had better graphics then Dragon age 1, but thats also only in the technical category, artistically kirkwall looked like some city made out of abandoned warehouses. A better thread would be a comparison between dragon age origins and witcher 2 (Witcher 2 obviously wins in graphics but the rest of the category is up for good debate)

[QUOTE="110million"]Gamefaqs has a 28+ page thread similar to this... but the guy argued why DA2 was better. I enjoyed the combat quite a bit more in Witcher 2 because I was expecting worse and got better. In DA2 I was expecting... something else. Krelian-co
i just checked that thread, and just lol, someone is actually saying dragon garbage 2 is better than witcher 2 xD
I know the whole point of forums is to discuss people's different opinions, but when I see something like someone saying Dragon Age 2 is better then Witcher 2, I cringe.
