The only reason why Kinect is in existence is _because_ of games. If Microsoft never made Kinect for gaming, they never would have made it, period. There are likely many, many useful tools that could be created for blind/deaf/impaired/scientific purposes - but they will never see the light of day because there is no money to be made. The whole reason why Kinect has been hacked for these purposes, is _because_ other options are so expensive as to not be viable. As a gaming device, it is still a bit underwhelming, but I am glad the device exists, and hopeful for the future. As the *ware matures and improves, it could become a very useful tool with a lot of different applications, for games and otherwise.
Thanks Cam for the down to earth opinion and interesting video!
Meh. Choose the one you like. Nobody's perfect, but if you constantly feel the need to convince others, work on your insecurities (meditation is the best way to do this IMO). Edit: Other than that, it's nice to see some sensible articles like this one. Cheers!
@d1versify ... No. It's an over-produced dog of a game, that ultimately fails because there were clearly too many chefs in the kitchen. Just like Diablo 3. Blizzard has no talent left, they just have oodles of cash and fans that will give their left nut for something with a Blizzard sticker on it.
@conorhat I wouldn't say the PC does everything they can do. It's far from the same experience. A PC is a pain in the ass in a lot of ways... sometimes I just wanna say "f**k it, lets grab beers and play Halo".
