@Boddicker XCOM was never about making your own stories. There is an entire storyline, which is about Aliens invading Earth, for a reason, and it is your goal, as the commander of the X-Com team, to defend against the Aliens, find out why they are invading, and put a stop to the invasion.

It's not wrong for Firaxis to flesh out a bit the story.

@Iddhi Simple question : how is it bad management for a game to be canned? I don't think you exactly knows how it works in the game industry to make such comments. I work in this industry, so I know a little bit of how it goes... Bad management? No... Stressful decisions? More like it.

Video games don't deal with mental pressure of killing real people, gun recoil, and such. You cannot really train for real on video games.
