[QUOTE="DmadFearmonger"]I love Russell Brand's Ponderland. But his other work I'm not a fan of. Also I reckon you should check out the Mighty Boosh if you're into nonesense (or surreal, if you prefere) comedy. See my avatar? That's a character; they made the moon an "alibaster retard  If you do choose to check it out I recommend the episode "Call of The Yeti", It's what got me into it.DmadFearmonger

I dont know what ponderland is, i just find russel brand annoying as hell... he talks fast, which i guess is funny to some, but he doesnt actually have any jokes. He just says things fast, which personally doesnt make words funnier.

I hate russel brand, so damn much. I think by this point, if he actually ever did anything funny i would be too biased to laugh... so its a moot point.

that mitchell and webb look, that was the brit sketch comedy i thought was hilarious. Ill have to check out the mighty boosh, though.

I think i went a bit harsh on my comedic evaluations, i think i hate the notion that somehow america can only produce fart jokes... and brits are somehow basing all their jokes quantum physics principles beyond us simpletons.

Ill give the brits the sketch comedies, i still think we have better standup.

Ponderland does have some great moments. But if that's honestly what you think of him I wouldn't recommend it. http://www.watchthemightyboosh.com/ All episodes are on there. I recommend Season 2 first, IMO it's the best, then watch 1 or 3. Doesn't matter much which one you choose, they're equally brilliant.

I grudgingly enjoyed get him to the greek... pretty funny movie, i just really dont like russel brand... maybe if i finally saw this ponderland thing i would get the brit fascination. But you understand, he doesnt actually have any sort of setup or punchlines in his jokes? He doesnt actually have jokes at all, like literally.... he doesnt have jokes.

But ill promise ill check out the mighty boosh, and ill probably love it. But that doesnt mean i cant think russel brand is a hack at the same time :P

Well first of all anything by Ricky Gervais, wether it be his standup, podcasts or his shows if you dont find his (intelligent) britishcomedy funny then you must be a serious hater or have something seriously wrong with you.

sonofsmeagle

gervais walks a fine line for me, i love his podcasts and standup... but when hes actually in movies, he borderline annoys me. Its the "well should i buy a twizzler?" "i dunno i just had a twizzler the other day" "do you think it would be bad for my weight?" "well you havent had any twizzlers today" "we probably deserve a twizzler"

I blame the corruption of hollywood though, forcing him into sort of indecisive moronic role. I think hes a genuine talent.

[QUOTE="DmadFearmonger"]Goodgood. How do you feel about a group of comedians, who all take up character alias's for a TV show, but also use those characters for group stand up/live acts. But for their solo stand up they all go by their real names. (I'm reffering to the mighty boosh)DmadFearmonger

I havent seen the mighty boosh. I have seen other british sketch comedies shows that were hilarious though, unfortunately the name escapes me. There are alot of hilarious brits... and in terms of sketch comedy, i think the brits got us. I just dont think brits are naturally superior to us at comedy... especially because i despise russel brand... which british people apparently love. I dont get it.

[QUOTE="DmadFearmonger"]What if you have a character you play in a show? Technically an alternative Persona, is it not?DmadFearmonger

There have been succesful comedic persona's like mike meyers with wayne's world and the austin power series. But he never went around with some thick glasses annoying celebrities, thats the fallback of a failed comedian. Character acting should be a staple of your acting career, not a crutch for your comedy career.

That guy was just awful, triumph the insult comic dog can interview celebrities and get 100 times more laughs... and thats just a dude with his hand up a rubber puppet.... al least triumph has real off the cuff humor thats actually funny.

Anyone can put on a set of thick glasses and ask mel gibson why hes such a douche, thats not comedy, thats not creativity, its just pure laziness.

put on some thick glasses and annoy people with inapporpriate questions? in comedy, thats whats known as a hack... if you have to create an alternate persona to be funny... thats means... YOU ARE NOT FUNNY. Ask larry the cable guy.

What if you have a character you play in a show? Technically an alternative Persona, is it not?

Might I ask also, Is Larry the cable guy one of those american "comedians" who puts on the role of a complete dickhead, only to ammuse nobody except halfbrains?

larry the cable guy is a failed comedian, that created a persona... to appeal to an intellectually bankrupt portion of society, in which he found incredible financial success.

Stupid glasses guy, is essentially the same thing, though not as bad... because nobody stoops as low as larry the cable guy. Just youtube it.

I never played rez, and child of eden has been getting incredible reviews. But it looks like something you can only enjoy if you are already imbiding mind altering substances.

I got a $20 game credit set to expire at the end of the month, was hoping something would manifest itself (i believed in you DNF)... looks like child of eden is the best thing going?

Anyone out there that doesnt partake in recreational drugs actually enjoy this game?

Not to insist that game reviewers are open and enjoying new experiences beyond motion controls. But are there normal gamers out there that havent played rez, and think child of eden is the best release this month?

Liitle Britain, Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz, The Inbetweenersleperphiliac

shaun of the dead and hot fuzz were simplistic comedies with kindergarten punchlines (havent seen the others). Will farrell can freestyle better comedy in his sleep.

ya ok ill belive that if only the console we had this gen didnt over heat , lol ,

and 10 times seams unlikely this gen they were only 2x the power ,

so what the heck all of a sudden 10 x no way pal unless you want to spend 1000-2000 on a console that gets pretty hot

mariokart64fan

vs

This is the difference of Halo 2 vs halo reach... the hardware is 4 years apart. But the resolution was about doubled, and there were heavy graphical improvements across the board.

The xbox 360 hardware is already 6 years old... by 2013 it will be 8 years old.

If 4 years hardware can do twice the resolution, with much improved all around graphics... you think 8 years can only double?

In raw power its probably 10 fold.... but there is obviously a distinction. Alot of PC gamers like to claim their PC is 10x as powerful as the 360... but none of them could ever dream about running 10 instances of crysis 2 with 360 gaphical fidlety simultaneously. However 10 xbox 360s can run 10 instances of crysis 2 simultaneously, because 10 xbox 360s are actually 10x more powerful than 1 xbox 360.

There needs to be a distinction between theoretical and actual performance, i believe in theoretical power... the next xbox will probably be about 10x as powerful (or more), in realized power... maybe 4-6x.
