I would assume you figured this out, but just reload the checkpoint. If that doesn't work, go to the main menu and restart the level.
I mean, if people really want to wait like a year to hear if the PS5 will indeed have BC and then wait even more until it actually releases so they can play PS4 games, then have at it. Or just get a PS4 now since they're relatively inexpensive and enjoy all the games it currently has to offer as well as the others that will be releasing in the coming years before the PS5 releases.
It's a trend I haven't gotten into, nor plan on getting into. I've mostly distanced myself from online games so this is just especially unappealing to me. At a glance, the concept of these battle royale modes/games is kind of interesting. But I don't see the long term appeal in it. You jump in a match, see how long you survive, most likely die, then join another game and repeat. I've watched a good amount of gameplay from these types of games and like 90% of it boils down to searching for loot, running, and hiding. Most matches end up with just 1 or 2 encounters for the average person. But, for all I know, maybe this description isn't accurate for all Battle Royale games. In any case, I just can't be assed to ever try them and I'm definitely not touching anything with a "freemium" model.
What exactly did you "predict"? That more online/multiplayer games would become popular? Well, there's still plenty of good SP games out there but I guess you from 9 years ago thought it was dumb to buy SP games so I'm trying to understand what your point is.
Not unless they're unskippable and I'm playing through the game or another level a second time and just want to get to the gameplay since I've already experienced the story. But I rarely run into that problem. Sometimes cutscenes can be annoying if they happen in the middle of gameplay or as I'm exploring and I move to a certain area that triggers a cutscene and I'm not ready to move on or whatever. Otherwise, I think cutscenes are a perfectly fine part of most games. If done right, they can really add to the story without turning the game into feeling more like a movie.
These things get asked a lot and the answer is always that it is going to depend on where you go to sell it. I always use eBay as a reference and you can usually get the best price there even once taking in selling fees/shipping costs into consideration. I narrowed down a search for you so you can see what sold 500GB PS3s went for. At a glance, with everything you have bundled, I would say you can get anywhere from about $110-$140 including shipping if you were to use "Buy it Now", since auctions can be risky. So that's maybe $80-110 you can actually make after selling costs are accounted for.
If you go to a pawn shop or something then I'd be surprised if you even got like $50 for everything.
I mean, I know they can easily track things like player choice, time played, and so forth. But I can't see any of this sort of information being used for nefarious reasons. If anything, I think companies look to see how many people actually finish their game and what portion of people play the game is such a way. I've read something about achievements/trophies being created at least partially for the purpose of devs/publishers being able to see how far most people actually get in the game. Some data might help them with the way they make future games. Or maybe most of it is just for curiosity's sake, I really dunno.

Of all those I only played Blur since I'm mostly on Playstation. But anyway, that game was really awesome. After playing the game, I was almost immediately made aware of the studio's closure and that another game would never happen. So that sucked. But still, definitely had a lot of fun playing Blur but I realistically don't expect another one to happen.
