@atopp399: I wouldn't worry about that, every time SE makes a major statement of their business practice they screw up, remember Shinra Project, that preached cloud gaming as the future of all gaming and invested on it only to take major damage, they will make this online expansion for FXV only to have everyone ignore it or only play to try to get the trophies and stop.
@Dragerdeifrit: My mom hate this day, even though it's her birthday, it's mainly because here on Brazil they would form lines to go to the graveyard and smell of candles made her nervous.
@zmanbarzel: Also it shows that some rookie directors are better on the job than some long time director that tend to put their politic position on the job instead of their art.
@mrbojangles25: Of course they were, you can't plan a movie like this less than year, specially if they're Hillary's electors, it means they deeply believed she would've won so no way they would plan it thinking of her loss.
@darkelf83: That's not how it happens, PS Now is still in a large area testing stage, Sony charts a plan, for a certain amount of time, normally 1-2 fiscal years, sometimes more, Sony will create an estimate number of users for PS Now, during this time Sony will release titles they already got permission and posses an contract with and releasing each title little by little, if at end of the project Sony reaches the estimate number then it's successful, otherwise it's a failure.
@StokeMeAClipper: It will fail, these internet streaming services are ridiculous expensive to maintain, with time this system will become so expensive to maintain that these titles holder will receive little to no profit and will back away from it leading to it's doom. This is the fate of all streaming services, actually all digital services, but if they're smart they can delay this, but it will happen eventually.
@lonesamurai1: No, ripped keys isn't piracy or stolen master keys isn't piracy either, it's theft, but is way worse than piracy, piracy is considered illegal and developers, some developers, doesn't care about piracy, nor see them as problem, while it happens with console, it happens in a smaller amount than PC, PC piracy happens in an alarming rate.
No, nothing stopping them in developing for PC, in fact I normally recommend for starters in the industry aim for PC first then develop something for multiple platforms, makes easier to understand the market, in my opinion indies work much better on PC, the two main issue are:
The gigantic game library on PC: if you put too many games on a single platform it creates competition among them, it's normal but the more games, the less sales of a single product, that's were end-year and holiday sales comes, they drop the price drastically and that increase the demand thus selling like crazy, but since the price drops, the profit margin becomes damaged, indies have it better since they can sell with the double or triple the price at start, then drop the price by 25%-50% and still profit a lot, but major games from big name companies can't, they have fixed price at market.
So having a larger library ain't necessary a good thing, this is also starting to happen with console thanks to the digital distribution, but consoles have physical media, by merely creating collectors and limited editions you can actually increase demand on day 1, but digital even if they create this kind of promotion they can upgrade it later, so it ain't a real incentive to buy.
The hardware issues: I still believe hardware issues are still a problem, PC can get outdated really fast, while indies won't have much issue, major games, the main bread of the industry will have these issues, if you upgrade your PC properly you won't have much of a issue, but most people going for PC gaming nowadays are just dummies, they usually buy a pre-built PC or fall in the trap of the new age, a gamer laptop thinking they can play all day on battery without thinking that doing this will kill their machine and battery life really fast.
Well, this is what I learned with some developers, in a console, the machine will remain the same for years, it will never upgrade and will stay in the basics for years, PC's won't, they will upgrade and year by year new parts will be released, some will upgrade while other won't, that's were the issue is, developers that develops for multiple platforms, the normal developer of current time, will have to develops multiple versions of the same game to work on multiple different rigs and consoles, this takes time, time that they could be developing more and profiting, time that they could be resting to restore strength and stamina after long months and years developing something, they will be having to patch a bugged game, but this happens with consoles exclusives too, I know, the main reason for that is schedule, first, second and third party developers have a tight schedule, often keeping the schedule forces them release a untested or badly tested game, this happens on PC too, but most cases on PC is due problems in dealing a old game with an outdated machine or a machine far more upgraded than the game, on internet has people or programs that can help with this, better than bothering the developer, but like I said before, dummies, they won't deal and even if they find a program that can help they will still be scared to deal with the situation, thus causing more problem for the developer.
So I believe major games should be exclusive to their platforms, be it console, portable, mobile or PC, thus avoiding issues, but it's still the developer choice on this matter.
@lonesamurai1:Sorry about that, I read Youtube and got angry with all that stuff of deleting some channels I used to watch for absolute no reason.
I was trying to justify my point, the immense amount of games on internet for PC has saturated the game market for PC, it cheapened games to make them easier to be sold, some games are still cheap.
Here's a good example, did you know that games released on US have different price to the ones being released here on my country, Brazil?
An example is No man's Sky, 60USD on US, but 35USD on Brazil on launch day, The Witness was 40USD on US and 17USD on Brazil on launch, but they analyze the launch they count sales not prices and often calculate PC sales as a whole not taking consideration the large variation of prices, all of this kills profit margin, another example was that Fallout 4 was sold as 70USD on Brazil for PC and 50USD as PS4, all of this is problematic, when you said it was laziness that was what I was trying to explain, for indies, most indies at least, it's amazing since they can sell for twice the price and drop 25% in a sale and still sell, but for large companies like Sega, Ubisoft and others, it's not, they do for the sake of pleasing their consumer, just look at Batman Arkham Knight, Time Warner took a large damage fixing the PC version, lots of people demanded their money back, it was expensive to work on the patch and people still demanded their money back, if they concentrated only on console nothing of this would had happened.
Did you know that you can rip keys or find master keys and repass them through the internet?
It's Illegal, but the systems doesn't care, anything obtained from ripped keys or master keys are original goods, so it doesn't fall in the category of copyright infringement nor it's a mugging since there's no physical evidence, it's troublesome to deal with these situations, Humble Bundle, Green Man Gaming, Amazon and a few others the sale of keys are legal, but several places were they sell keys are often ripped or copy of master keys, they can't delete your game since it's original, but it is still a stole game.
It's not laziness, it's fear, complication, hardware issues and others few more problems, the PC versions they're releasing of games in the last few years are just to please a small amount of consumers, but buddy, it's not that profitable and it's expensive to make.
Once again, sorry for the mean commentary, I was really pissed, well, I still am pissed at Youtube, shouldn't had discounted my anger at you, I apologize for my childish behavior, now it's gonna pass Game of Thrones here now, so good luck, you can search everything I just said and even contact few developers too, lots of them are open to talk over things like that.
