Red Xbox 360 has a new owner.

Anyone who knows me understand well that for the last three years I was mostly gaming on PC and PS3.

Well, today that changes. Both of my PC and PS3 had been given away to respectfully my younger brother and PC to my computer guru cousin who was more then happy to dismantle my custom build machine to pieces the moment I arrived to his house. (My guess is he will build his own)

The simple reason for my give-a-ways is that I had moved to new city (Toronto, Canada.) I have new work, renting a decent apartment and hopping for the next 2-3 years to adopt a nice carrier job that will slowly but steadily get me the house down-payment.

At least that's what myself and my fiance have in mind. The move was good for her as well since she will attend George Brown College in her carrier pursuit while working part-time.

I didn't really wanted to leave my PS3 behind but I know very well how many sleepless nights my brother spend with it and still continues. Those who have me in friends list on PS3 keep in mind he has different sub-account so don't be surprised when you don't see me log-in in future.

At some point of time I'll eventually adopt another PS3 but it won't be for time being.

As for my first Xbox 360 experience, for those who actually care ;) I'm very pleased. I got my hands on Resident Evil Elite Red Colored system which I got relatively cheap considering my other half paid for half of it. She wanted it anyway so no complains from my side.

After playing around the dashboard which is quite well done and trying out few demos I got little time addicted to Magic: The Gathering - Duels of the Planeswalkers card arcade game. I wasn't able to defeat the computer but I did come close few times.

I always enjoyed card based video games but most of them were to hard to comprehend. For some reason after about half an hour I really got into the whole idea of the gameplay and some strategy but there is lots to learn.

Other then that I'm looking forward to play most of the games that came out in last few years of the console but I'm definitely starting with Mass Effect since I'm a sucker for Sci-Fi games and Bioware pretty much made every game I enjoyed on PC.

I got 1 month free gold account so I'll try to use it while it lasts and later on I'll subscribe for longer period.

It's a little lonely on Xbox Live since I'm use to my long list of PSN friends but If you're looking for casual, friendly and mature person to play once time allows - feel free to add me.

With this news I'm leaving you folks with RE5 Elite picture.

Happy Gaming! 8)

FNR4 has arrived, it's time to rumble!

After spending numerous hours exploring all the options in new Fight Night series and still beating my head how to have great score in training mode in Legacy mode I decided to let out some steam and create myself a showdown with Roy Jones JR.

I have to admit FNR4 is definitely the most realistic boxing game to date, I was a huge fan of FNR3 and it took me quite some time to get use to 4th game, they are quite different.

The only grip I have is ridiculous training mode and I want to move like Ali darn it!!

After getting my butt kicked for the first 3-4 rounds, I was mostly trying to avoid Roy's crazy counter's, he eventually got tired by round 8th and I had stamina saved up.

Roy Jones JR is down!

I was a huge fan of Fight Night Round 3 and some aspects of the 4h game were quite changed.

I didn't try online mode as of yet but I did what I always wanted to do.

I completely whooped Tyson to the pulp with my favorite boxer of all time: ALI :)

This is Not a Game.

Since this is something I had been thinking about in past I wanted to uncover the whole story while finding this great link.

Can a video game player that is good, really good with Gran Turismo actually able to compete with real life professionals on equal grounds?

I had been talking, arguing and trying to convince many of my friends that GT5 is not just a video game. With proper training and mind set the game does offer some phenomenal realism.

If you're car enthusiast like myself, read below.

This is not a game.

Final Fantasy XIII Demo - English Subtitles.

Greetings fellow friends, recently G4TV released two parts of Final Fantasy XIII Demo with English subtitles.

Both parts are available in regular and HD quality.

All I can say is that I'm very exited for FFXIII. It looks like updated version of more dynamic and engaging turn based combat system I still enjoy very much.

It's a long wait.. but this game is worth it. ;)

Music in Games and Anime.

Some games/anime made me cry, some inspire my deepest emotions.

Non of that is possible without masterpieces of music that brings our best, most passionate and.. most beautiful feelings.

During my gaming history my heart had beat many times and it's this moments that made me smile freely, even today.

As I set down with many family, co-workers, close friends and current (don't hit me dear..) fiance - most of us have grown up in different countries but we have many things in common.

We're, as many of us on this boards, the new generation. We have been exposed to gaming and it's part of our lives.

There melodies are for you.

Game Addiction: My Input.

After reading the recent:

http://www.gamespot.com/features/6207309/index.html?om_act=convert&om_clk=picks&tag=picks;title;3

I decided to input my own few words.

Gaming had definitely changed over the years. Today it has become as popular as movies and sports and it has been extremely wide spread to all ages.
Increased popularity in gaming is not a bad thing, like every medium it evolves but like the article stated - it's a beast in the woods and it's getting lots of attention.

Most people who spend a large amount of time on video games actually do have time to do so. Regardless how you look at it, if you do have 20+ hours a week to spend on gaming there will be different psychological approach when you socialize with other people who for example don't play video games or simple have different hobbies.
That's a fact. I don't expect Mr. Ryan and his research to truly understand how that relationship works because he isn't looking at it from gamers perspective but from his professional mindset as a professor of psychology, psychiatry and education.
And this is where the problem occurs in my opinion. The misunderstanding between two societies usually ends up in media which over-exaggerates majority of the time when it comes to gaming in general.

Anything in healthy lifespan of every man and woman that is done for long period of time can be bad, not just gaming. While I do agree that spending a lot of time playing games will cripple your social life at least a little and in some situations more then it should be, in all honesty those symptoms occur 90% of the time when playing MMO games, though I personally have colleagues in their mid 20s and 30s who have families and their 1-3 hours few times a week playing World of Warcraft and Lord of the Rings as an example pretty much has no influence to their work, family or friends.
They are mature people who understand that games provide fun and enjoyable time of.

I'm twenty six years old and I have to add one more aspect. My generation in next 20-30 years will replace almost every major abstract of general life as we know. Almost everyone today play games. Be it Wii or hardcore PC.

Gaming is only going to grow higher and instances where young teens and sometimes adults perform is of course troubling but it's not unexpected since in almost all of those cases those people had more issues in their personal life then media covers or states.
People, regardless of their age, don't commit crimes unless there is something wrong with them in first place that pushed them to that line.

Gaming, as a extremely popular and fast growing medium 'just' happens to be all eye attention.

Lets talk about ONLIVE

http://www.engadget.com/2009/03/25/video-onlive-streaming-game-demonstrated/

So, what is OnLive? To put it simply OnLive is games on demand, which means you get to play virtually any game the publisher decided to put on to the service itself and all that you need is nearly any broadband connection (DSL, cable modem, fiber).

For Standard-Definition TV resolution, OnLive needs a 1.5 Mbps connection. For HDTV resolution (720p60), OnLive needs 5 Mbps.

To play the game on your TV all you need is your TV, an OnLive MicroConsole and a couple of cables according to the main website FAQ.

There still isn't price point set for the subscribtion but I'm not expecting it to be expensive since it needs to be mainstream and available for everyone to play.

What does this mean for gamers like ourselves? Well on my personal note I believe it's going to be fantastic service but certainly not for everyone. 720p resolution is nothing to brag about if you're PC gamer. Even few years old computers can play 1600x1200 resolution and today that has extended quite further. My last custom made PC (the one I use today) cost me around 800$ two years ago and it still staggers on 13-16 frames when I play it High in Crysis.

That amount of money might sound 'not enough' for PC enthusiasts but to me it certainly took quite a bit of savings and of course research into technology's of PC gaming. Lets be honest, most mainstream gamers today don't have much desire to build their own computers nor research into very long list of PC hardware.

Sometimes this also means troubleshooting your new game and make it run on your Vista or XP. It does require some knowledge, time and investment to be PC gamer.

Where am I going with this? It seems that OnLive will offer High Quality PC gaming and if console publishers decide their games as well to run on pretty much any home PC regardless of hardware or TV. It's true, you do need 5 Mbps broadband speed and you get 720P instead of those high resolution PC gamers are accustomed to, however after seeing OnLive in action those games do look extremely good, in fact as good as their PC counterparts.

Another good aspect I like is - renting. You can now rent PC games. This is big for me, in fact one of the reasons I also enjoy consoles. They offer lots of games that can be rented for 6$-8$ and this does save money. Not every game be it PC or console is worth spending 50-60$ on a graphics difference is not enormously different if you have HDTV available.

All you need is entry level PC, Mac or OnLive Micro console for your TV. No upgrades required and ability to play high end games almost instantly? It does sounds good. Again, unless you don't have broadband Internet connection this service is still not alternative to your custom PC, at least not at the moment.

The video above pretty much explains all there is to know about OnLive and how it works so the questions comes up.

For majority of PC gamers and gamers in genereal, myself included, who doesn't have the capabilities to spend good amount of money on PC upgrades to keep up with PC high end gaming, will OnLive be good alternative?

That depends, right now it's a lot of talk. Before I decide to subscribe for it I need to know: The price of subscription? Will the broadband connection be enough to keep those quick streaming high definition games run smoothly without lag?

Take a look at the Crysis running at low end laptop with no graphic card. Time: 18:25.

There is something my current PC can't run on High Settings.

It's true, this isn't as High Video Resolution as custom made enthusiastic build PC but the affordability of the service and simplicity make it excellent choice. I want to save money, I want to play latest and newest PC games with great visuals and OnLive does seem to offer.

I don't have to worry about technical aspects of the PC or keep up with hardware.

I have been PC gaming for around 12 years now. I started with floppy disk of Wolfenstein and Doom and I always enjoyed PC gaming, however OnLive offering is very impressive.

If this works out well and my current broadband connection can turn my HDTV or current PC into decent cost subscription (hopefully) gaming entertainment - I believe PC gaming as we know it today has definitely got alternative.

I don't see this service interfier with current consoles on the market but depending on the cost of OnLive subscription and Micro-system as well as amount of games that will be available it could go either way. At the moment of this announcement it's understandable that PC is the primary target for anyone who wants to play news PC games with low end machines or those who don't have the ability or don't want to spend money on upgrades.

Time will tell how this will work out and what the future holds.

What are your reactions about OnLive? What do you like and dislike about it? Is this something you're interested in regardless if you're PC or Console gamer?

Goodbye PSP 1001.

It sure had been some years. I have had my original PSP since May 2005; last week I finally gathered some spare cash and at the same time a good value trade-in to nicely make new purchase.

After spending good eight hours with slick black version of PSP 3000;

I have to admit it's quite a joy. The first thing that is considerably noticeable of course is how light and ergonomic it is. My fingers didn't get nearly as tired as before and it definitely helps when I'm on the road. The diagonal arrows feel more sturdy and buttons more "tougher" in a way.

The microphone has been added right in between the volume control which should make skype use as well as any team-oriented multiplayer game (Socom :P) breeze to communicate with.

I also found out improved AV output for video and game playback on TVs works fantastic and while enjoying God of War and Crisis Core the screen offers better color reproduction then my old model. It was very colorful, clear and sharp. Quite an experience.

I never had PSP 2000 so I can't compare it but for me personally I'm very happy with the latest model.

The battery life seems to be around half an hour less for me on full brightness which clocks on average 6 hours with full charge.

That's more then enough of time for my needs.

So, the package came with National Treasure 2 movie (which was alright), Ratchet and Clank: Size Matters and full game Everyday Shooter which needed to be downloaded from PSN.

Speaking of Everyday Shooter, I absolutely freaking love it. Simple, fun and lots of re-playability. Plus it's very colorful showing of 3000 gorgeous colors quite well.

Before buying the model I read some troubles with scaliness during high-motion video and gaming sequences. I haven't really noticed them and if they do exits they weren't distracting me at any point of time.

On the side note, I was disappointed with Street Fighter IV quite a bit but most of my friends are loving it so it's probably my own issues. I just don't find all the super, ultra, mecha, super-duper specials 24/7 appealing.. ;)

I'll be sticking to 3rd strike for time being since I really don't understand why Parry and proper Dash were skipped from fourth installation, not to mention last boss Seth... The game had just became to much reliable on "super" moves and to me that takes away in what I fall love with years ago. This new direction street fighter went to certainly isn't my cup of coffee.

That about wraps this blog update. We're few days away from Killzone 2 which I'm anticipating even more after playing the demo for the last two weeks.

It should be a good shooter, I'm not expecting anything groundbreaking but it will appeal to shooter fans nicely.

Killzone 2 demo? Why yes. ;)

What can I say, since I wasn't able to find Gamestop here in Toronto, Canada I (apparently Hamilton has one!), I was pleasantly surprised that my local EBGames actually had one last remaining Demo (In their store) for those who pre-ordered the game.

In my case, already paid off for. ;)

In addition to that, today was a release date for February issue of Official PlayStation Magazine and I was blown away by content and praise they gave the game out.

In fact I was so exited that I decided to find and play previous Killzone and PSP's Liberation together with learning all about the game story.

To help me on that part I encourage everyone who is anticipating this shooter to read the story it has to offer. I was very surprised how deep, political and mature it was.

It's a long read but very. very well done if you're sci-fi junkie like myself.

www.killzone.com (story mode option) offers all there is to know with Killzone story which I found very enjoyable.

Who would had though it actually had well expressed and established ground.

That's it for now, I can't wait to actually jump into the demo which should be available to unlock starting February 5th. ^_^
