Posted this on system wars also. Guess someone deleted it. Probably a power tripping admin or someone who didn't like the fact that I bashed CoD.

[QUOTE="acanofcoke"]If you want to record minecraft at a decent quality you're going to want a better CPU than that really.ionusX

lul wut minecraft requires the graphics harsepower of a box of crayons and its about as cpu punishing as the free calculator in windows

1. Minecraft CPU usage is typically high because it's written in Java, so it does punish the CPU, particularly if the object count gets high. So no, it isn't about as CPU punishing as the free calculator in Windows.

2. I see you're using an Intel processor (assuming the rig in your sig is the one you're currently using). Welcome, brother. It was only a matter of time.

Almost done with this game. Will provide an obligatory (and legendary) Panda review once everything's wrapped up.

Here's another classification piece I just found on the various players you'll meet online:

http://www.604republic.com/geekout/getpost/types-of-gamers-youll-encounter-online

As a comedy piece, it's not bad, although I think it's missing one or two extra classifications, like newbs and those douches who play sport games and think they're actual athletes. Give me a break you Madden wannabe. Also personally, I think the CoD players should be lumped into their own seperate category, but whatever.

One of the more underrted RPG's in the past few years. Buy it, play it, become it.

From what I have seen AMD and Intel are almost exactly the same company. The only difference I have seen is that Intel has more super high end chipsets.taylor888

I guess they're exactly the same... if you count one as having revenues and yearly profits in the billions while the other hemorrhages cash faster than Usain Bolt runs the 100m.

I can just imagine the letter sent to Techreport:

Dear Techreport,

The holidays are all about giving and we here at AMD, believe in that more than anyone. Of course, it helps when no one wants to buy your products, that's why we're giving you one of our GPU's for free! At AMD, we believe in achieving the best benchmarks possible. Sadly, this option isn't available with our current crop of mediocre CPU's, so we've decided to pair our GPU's up with our main competitor's CPU's--which incidentally, are kicking our teeth in right now. Please disregard the blatant and pathetic hypocrisy behind these requests and accept, attached with this email, a coupon granting half price off our most recent paperweight release: Piledriver. Works great, holding down loose pieces of paper better than its predeccesor! Can also double as a great skipping stone, allowing you to achieve parallel ripples in the water thanks to our dedication to giving you more useless cores!

Sincerely,

The Department of Incompetence AKA AMD Management

You call that offroading? This is offroading:

Let's see a Mini Cooper do that.

WoW is a CPU dependent game. It likes cores and IPC. The first is an area AMD likes to pimp out on because they flat out fail in the second when compared to their Intel counterpart. In fact, their IPC performance can be classified as miserable, as in 'Requiem For A Dream' miserable.

So to answer your question, I'll raise you one of my own and let you sit on it: Is offroading in a Mini Cooper possible? Is it advisable?
