I just played the troll trouble quest and it's obvious it was in the game already and was removed to be added as "free" dlc just to seem cool -_- CD Projekt is my favourite developer atm but this is pretty lame...

Eh. The PS3 launched at 600$. A 1200$ rig at that same time will probably be on par with the next gen consoles. PC games are also less expensive, so overall if you build the rig yourself, it's probably equal in price. I donno if I would go that far. A 1200 rig from like 3 years ago would be on par with some of the leaker(rumored) Wii2 specs though. A 6 year old 1200 dollar rig would be showing its age pretty well by now. I built the computer in my sig like 4 years ago, on what settings do you think I run The Witcher 2?
True Story. I already made up more than put into for my latest build... only for that money to go into console games and accessories. This past month was LA Noire ($62), Mortal Kombat ($62), controller charger ($19), sony earpiece ($50)... on the PC side, all I spent this month is...well, nothing.

WTF the looping background/ambient sound (ie crowd noises, clanging bells) are so annoying in this game I'm not sure I can play much longer. It literally gives me a headache. Any way at all to disable (yes, other than turning down the volume)?

The sounds are probably the best I've heard in a game, the bells are only in the inn in chapter 1 if I'm not mistaken.
So yesterday i fought the Endregas Queen in the forest in chapter 1. It was awful and horribly frustrating. Died more than 10 times, tried everything, from bombs to signs, finally managed to kill her using that "trap" sign. There was no limit to my happiness, until i looked at the quest logs. Turns out it says "QUEENS" and not queen. FML :/PirateMaster666
They're only 2 :P Just keep rolling to avoid being hited and keep using igni sign they die easily with that. You need to get close to hit with igni sign, it appeared to fail if I wasn't close.
I got halfway through the first game but never finished it because I lost my save. I'm thinking of getting the second one because it looks a lot better. Do I have to finish the first to truly appreciate the second or can I just jump in? Its not gonna be like Mass Effect where I miss out on a bunch of content because of it?6matt6
It would be better to understand the story yes and the first The Witcher is a great game too worth playing, there are certain things that I even like more than in the second.
