Ill! And Going Retro

I cant believe it, I'm full of cold. This usually wouldnt make headlines, but as some of you know, I'm due to be performing in a musical soon. Very soon. 5 days soon!!! :|

Had to excuse myself from work yesterday, went straight to bed, nose CONSTANTLY running, fever of about 100, coughing, sneezing... I was so worried. I'm a bit better today, no fever as such, nose kinda under control, less coughing, throat still bad though. Still, have to go to rehearsals tonight, let them down yesterday by sweating it up in bed :( Please, anyone who reads this, think of me in their prayers, I need them right now. I dont want the whole show to be screwed because of some stupid cold. Not after all the work we've all put in :(

The day off has given me time to play games though. Looking around on XBox Live Arcade, I found Sonic the Hedgehog 1 and 2! Been having loadsa fun with them, especially the Special Stages on Sonic 2, that took me right back :)

Time for a bucket load of meds :(

Cooking Mama 3 : Welsh Man in the sun

I've decided to take a break from the glorious sunshine, let my skin cool down from tanning, and put keys to keyboard to type out this blog.

Hey everyone, how we doing? Yes, I had my moment of madness and went ahead, buying GTAIV. So far, I am pleasantly surprised, despite being basically more of the same, it seems somewhat less gratitous and more driven by story... empathising with your main character helps you to enjoy a game more, I believe. Still a bit unsure on the handling of the cars, but getting used to it, though I have noticed the combat is muchos improved with cover being available in most situations ( this itself being slightly dodgy sometimes, but a minor point).

But I havent touched my XBox recently, indulging myself in a passion that I dont find the time to do until a couple of days ago... and thats reading. Oh yes, I love to read, I have many books, mostly by Clive Cussler, but the one I am reading at the mo is Jurassic Park by Michael Crichton. A fabulous book, in many many ways much more superior to the film, and enjoying every re-read minute of it :D

Not long till the big show.... :S. Getting kinda nervous. Heres a link to some pics if your interested

Off to cook grub, get washed up and go to rehersals! Till then, take care all

Dean :D

Kinda okay

Its taken a while, but the job isnt as bad anymore. I'm in a new section of the shop, mostly buying and selling preowned goods, testing them and so on so forth, not a huge amount of interaction with customers or managers alike  So getting a bit better.

Had to take back my new TV today though, I've only had it for about 3 weeks, and it died on me last night... got it replaced, but I dont want stuff like that happening again, not when I have to swap back down to a 21" TV (my new one is a 32" LCD... lush in Hi Def when playing XBox 360 :P ....). But all is well again.

Only 2 months left until the big show! Its going well, apart from having a new director brought in last week, hope everything works out there. Still have dances to learn, scenes to set, dialouge to read... but sure it'll be fine.

F@ck!ng J0b

I hate the damn place, more and more every day. Damn managers really REALLY make me wanna smoke like a forest fire.

Good thing I'm playing Assassins Creed, walking upto dudes and stabbing them in the face.

A Moment to Breath

Right, shortish update.

Yes I know, I havent been on here much. But in my defence, I've been a busy boy.

1. Still in the  job , but it's getting easier and less annoying as the days go on.

2. Drama rehersals have intensified, pretty much (apart from tonight) every night, and we are putting on a small show before concentrating on Millie on Thurs and Fri.

3. The rest of my "spare" time has been spent on the XBox 360 :P

If there is anyone else wanting to add me on XBox Live, feel free :( I'm currently enjoying (alot) Lost Odyssey, after finishing COD4 and Half Life, HL:E1 and halfway through HL:E2. Also had a blast on Halo 3... cant say I really enjoy it, but I'll peservere.

Anyway, will catch you all soon

Dean :)

First Impressions are the ones that count

At least in the gaming world. I had a couple of hours with Legend of Zelda : Twilight Princess, and I must say, am I impressed. As Zelda games go, the storyline is already very familiar, but theres definetely a darker edge to it that I really like. Once getting to the boss in the first dungeon (I'm upto Death Mountain, just got inside it... lava!), I was surprised how reminiscent it was (in looks) to Salazar in RE4... it actually freaked me out a bit!

Also loving the change between Link/Wolf form. In fact I really enjoy being the wolf, as simple as the concept is, the mechanics to using the wolf form are really well constructed. But when in Link form, its great galloping around on your horse, again, reminds me of playing Shadow of the Colossuss (easily one of my fave games). I'll be playing some more in a little while, and tomorrow too, I have a surprising day off, so making the most of it!

In other news, just got back from rehersals. They are really going well now, did the scene today were I have a big argument with the leading woman, and have to kiss her at the end of the scene!... but I cant bring myself to do it. Its been a while since I kissed anyone, and I dont wanna screw it up! Dont get me wrong, I dont fancy the lead girl (I used to work with both her and her fiance), but I'd still rather not suck at kissing  . But theres no one who I could practice with that I know I could ask. Oh well, back of the hand it is  :P

Dean ;)

Two quick things

1. I managed, after long last, to find a copy of The Legend of Zelda : Twilight Princess that doesnt cost and arm and a leg! A woo hoo!!!

2. Rehersals are coming along nicely... felt like I did some acting tonight!

I have 2 days off in a row Sun - Mon... I promis eI will look into everyones blogs by the end of those 2 days
