Honestly god of war is a nice franchise, but it has a very small fanbase. It really doesn't innovate that much in terms of gameplay. Its a good series, a tripple A series, but none of its games have ever sold 1/4 of what the average FF game sells.
And how much room does the series have to innovate? They have the chains of olympus, and they will never let those go, so bam the next game will have the same combat in different settings. How can that compete with the pwnge that was MS' presser?

I'm not really into either of these games, but all that about God of War's lack of innovation applies to Final Fantasy, too. Gameplay-wise, every one of them is the same.
