Merry Gaming + Two new games + Kinect

Happy Gaming this holiday season everyone!

Getting anything gaming-related this Christmas? I don't celebrate but I am getting the Kinect with a few games next week. I had to wait since Black Friday. :-(

I also purchased Batman: Arkham City and Lost in Shadow from Amazon yesterday. Amazon has a buy one get next game %50 off or something like that. Both were cheap so I got them.

In other news,

I've been updating the heck out of my website on wordpress - Gameyourtherapy. It's officially up in maintenance for 5 more days. I'll be happy when its complete. I also have to write up a business plan strategy this week. I'm trying to get that plan done before the new year. Don't want to start off with a whole lot of crap to do.

Anyone has plans for Xmas and New Years? My auntie is cooking this Sunday, so i'll be there.

I'm a featured Blogger at Gamasutra.com

Hi all, I have some awesome news to share with you. Today I found out my very first blog on Gamasutra.com is now featured for the day of 12/9/11. Yes, it already happened before I even heard about it, but now that I have heard about it I'm so happy.

I bet you're wondering what I wrote about. My topic was on Agile Project Management with Scrum. This methodology is used in software projects especially with video game software. If you look at some gaming jobs that needs project management skills, you're likely to find some methodogies listed such as Scrum.

I specially wrote about how to use Scrum with any type of project. I plan to use Scrum for my own blogging projects.

Article: How to Use Scrum Project Management with Any Project.

The most known author in Scrum methodology RESPONDED to my article. I couldn't believe it. He's actually looking forward to reading more about how I, a non-business professional from the gaming industry, is using Scrum for any project and not just a video game software project.

In other news,

My niche blog about $exuality and video games is getting a bit of traffic so be sure to check it out and follow it. Cutie, the Triple D Gamer. Yes, my boob size is 46DDD...

November Game Madness ~Book 1: Chapter 3~

So for this month, I got these games:

Spider-man Shattered Dimensions PS3

Metro 2033 X360

Eufloria PSN (Check out my review for it: Link)

My boyfriend got Assassin's Creed: Revelations, MGS HD Collection and Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3. He recently purchased Sonic Generations and Batman Arkham City so I'm borrowing those two games. He got MW3, which goes without saying ;)

Maybe when I come into some money again I'll pick up Kirby Return to Dreamland and Skyrim.

Digital trend will not boot physical copies of games

There is an article going around about a survey noting 57% of 1,000 videogames professionals at the London Games Conference believe digital sales will overtake boxed product sales in 2015. 16% of that group say the switch will happen in a year, 39% say during 2013, and 76% before 2015 is over.

Contrary to these industry executive beliefs, the world does not currently possess this kind of technology on a global scale to handle full console to streaming games digitally. Granted there's plenty of digital games for sale, but it's access isn't made worldwide simply because some internet connections cannot sustain speeds to stream games.

Therefore physical purchases will still be dominate in years to come unless everyone has the speed of fiber optics available in their area. I'm not saying that digital sales will not rise or even outsell in the upcoming years, but saying digital games will discontinue physical purchases in just 3 years is downright mythical. I wouldn't want these execs to work for my company in the finance department.

My first long-winded review!

So far I've been posting previews and news to the new site Levelsave.com. Last night was my first debut as a professional game reviewer. I posted a 3-page, 15 paragraph review on a cool WiiWare game. I know what you're thinking. A WiiWare game that has a 3-page review? yes. The games has a lot of stuff in it and I had to give a proper review. IGN does it so why can't I?

I know you're curious about this review so here you go:

3D Pixel Racing

In other news, I recently brought Mortal Kombat PS3 version and Alice: MAdness Returns 360 version. I plan to purchase Catherine hopefully this week. I went crazy with some PC games from Steam due to a sale on Civilization 5 and Humble Games Bundle Pack #3. Did you see how much they made already? $1M over the weekend! Sweet!

I have a video game discussion group in facebook. If you want to join, please visit GameAvation

Today is my birthday!

It's my birthday today and I turn 27. It's been a long year. I am happy to have made it this far with the loves of my life - gaming and my boyfriend! Woot!

I can actually say that I am working in my dream career, doing dream projects and with the MAN OF MY DREAMS. For everything else there's always MASTERCARD...

What I plan to do today? Stay in the house where it's cool because the east coast just got a heatwave reaching 103 degrees! If it's cooler than i'll try to go to Gamestop because they gave me some birthday coupons :D

I plan to get Mortal Kombat 9 and Alice Madness Returns and maybe Portal 2 once I go. I have Catherine PS3 on pre-order.

Perhaps next month when I get things in order I'll have a video game party

July Game Madness ~Book 1, Chapter 1~

I figure across all my gaming network blogs I should start posting the games I'm buying each month. Each month will have a book number, with different chapters.

A couple of days ago I went to Gamestop only to renew my Power Rewards Membership. When I came out the store, two used games fell into my bag miraculously. I never can go to Gamestop and not purchase anything so it seems.

I ended up purchasing these titles:

Majin and the Forsaken Kingdom I actually played the demo on PS3. I thought I played it on the 360 so I mistakenly purchased it for the xbox 360. Divinity II has been sitting in my wish list ever since Atlus kept sending me emails about it, and boy they sure know how to market their games! I just love me some Atlus games.

I had to put this back though:

I was too broke to purchase for the PS3 even though it wasn't that expensive. I am getting a new phone this week, so had to set aside money for that. Communication with the outside world comes first gamers. lol

The phone I ordered from Virgin Mobile:

I also pre-ordered some games via Amazon, but I'll post them up once I actually get them.

Until my next madness collection continues...Game On!

Market Research Focus Group for Gamers!

The need for community managers in the video game industry has been rising since the definition of community manager is finally understood. This also means that more video game developers are involving gamers in the development process of their games than ever before. We get to make a difference not just with betas but with naming the game, how its marketed, what audience is right for the game and more. Because of this advertising, market research and marketing firms are working closely with Community Managers and developers to get feedback from the gamers.

The Wicked Gaming Community believes in community involvement and likes to help video game developers, other gaming communities and websites to market and promote their products and services to gamers. The WGC's founder is currently looking for gamers to participate in a short survey that will allow them to be involved in the development of a new video game series. If interested, your gaming community, podcast, blog, articles and/or websites will be promoted through the WGC's toolbar, which is available for free download on any of the popular web browsers.

The WGC has only a week to get 80 gamers to take the survey. Please tell all your friends about this. Respond so that I can give you the link to the survey and for you to provide me with your own links if wanted to be promoted via the WGC Toolbar.

thanks!
