I try again, this time with telling her my feelings. Of course I get compliments on how sweet of a guy I am and all... but still she says I'm not her type, I'm just really good friend material, which I am now. I hold her secrets, she holds mine. Cake

Cake (often written capitalized: CAKE) is a band formed in 1991 in Sacramento, California. It has had several hits throughout the 1990s and 2000s from its five recorded albums.

Although Cake's music is often cla..ssfied as alternative or indie rock, it combines multiple musical genres, such as funk, ska, pop, jazz, rap, and country. Cake's music features droll lyrics rife with word play and syncopation (laconically-voiced in a rap-like ****by lead vocalist/guitarist John McCrea), catchy distorted guitar riffs (courtesy of guitarist Greg Brown until 1998, and bass player Victor Damiani until 1997), and a solo trumpet (played by Vince DiFiore). Cake's unique musical sty.le has been compared to They Might Be Giants, Talking Heads, The Cars and Camper Van Beethoven.

Damiani left the band in 1997, replaced by Gabe Nelson. Greg Brown left in 1998, replaced by Xan McCurdy. Brown and Damiani continued to work together when they formed the band Deathray. Todd Roper left the band to focus on parenthood after recording Comfort Eagle.

Cake's biggest hits have included "The Distance", "Never There", "Sheep Go to Heaven" "Rock 'n' Roll Life St.yle", "No Phone", "Short Skirt/Long Jacket", and an alternative remake of Gloria Gaynor's "I Will Survive". An instrumental version of Cake's "Italian Leather Sofa" is featured as the theme song to the cartoon Mission Hill. The song "Shadow Stabbing" from Comfort Eagle appears in the opening credits of the movies Orange County and Wordplay. The songs "Daria", "Rock 'n' Roll Life St.yle", and "Friend Is a Four-Letter Word" are featured as closing credit themes for episodes of Daria. The song "Frank Sinatra" was also featured at the close of The Sopranos episode "The Legend of Tennessee Moltisanti". The movie, "Me, Myself, and Irene" also featured Cake's "Hem of Your Garment".

Additionally, Cake headlined the Unlimited Sunshine Tour festival in the summer of 2002 among an eclectic ensemble of bands including Modest Mouse, The Flaming Lips, De La Soul, Latin techno fusion band Kinky and bluegrass group The Hackensaw Boys.

Cake's fifth album, Pressure Chief, was released on October 5, 2004. John McCrea discussed this album with Terry Gross on NPR's Fresh Air in February 2005.

A live album, Live at the Crystal Palace, will be released sometime in 2007 according to Cake's official website.

Cake's cover of "Mahna Mahna" appears on the charity CD "For the Kids" whose proceeds benefit the "VH1 SAVE THE MUSIC" organization.

Yes, after so long, I have decided to start again.

"I reached my parents house and was disheartened to find all the front windows broken and the front door, standing wide opened, with a bloody hand-print on it and a blood trail leading down the hallway...."

Here is where we left off at last time. So let's get started.

.... I approached the door slowly. Peaking in, seeing nothing, all was calm. I stepped through. All of a sudden, I heard something coming from down the hallway. A loud noise erupted from behind the door, a yell, and a club came down on my head. Knocking me to the ground, my head gashed open. It was my father, club raised over his head, looking at me in my moment of weakness. He looked as if he had gone feral. He brought the club down upon me, hitting me like the fist of an angry god. I kicked at him as his blows piled up into double digits. I could hear my ribs snapping. One kick had flown and managed to knock his blunt object astray, as it was flying towards me.

With his club gone, he began to stomp on me. He was still in good shape for his age, and always was a powerful man. I managed to roll out of the way and spring to my feet. Feeling the pain jolt through my body, I had to get away without hurting him. But what if there was no way I couldn't get away without hurting him. I looked him in the face as he came running at me, and connected a my fist with his nose, hearing the bone and cartilage crunch together. Blood frew from his nose and ran down his face in profuse amounts. It didn't seem to faze him. I had to kill him. Kill my own father, who I had so many good times with. It had to be done. I grappled onto him and brought him to the ground hard. There was no easy way to do this. As I latched my hands around his throat, I noticed someone coming down the hallway. It was my mother. She was a.. I really don't feel reliving what happened a few hours ago. I need to go relieve myself, I will continue later.

I bought there debut album for one reason. It was the only one they had, they didn't have their newest CD, which I need to get. But there are a lot of good songs on there, which were played profusely on the radio at time of release.
