The Key to the City!

I haven't felt like this a very long time. Actually I had this feeling back when I defeated Halo 3 on Legendary by myself. If you haven't already guessed it, I just finished GTA 4 with 100% completion. The pigeons weren't so bad and the random characters gave me a head ache but what almost done me in were those stupid stunt jumps. It was pretty much smooth sailing until I got to the very last jump, and every time I tried to do it I always got the same message, "not good enough". Obviously I thought ok I will jump even further then, nope same message. I was on that jump for almost an hour, yes just one jump. Finally I thought to myself, maybe I am over shooting it. Well one last try later I finally did it, which at first I only saw one achievement, thinking that there was something I was missing but sure enough the last achievement popped up to say hello. I think the only bad thought I have right now is, what now? I mean I spent so much time on this one game but I feel like I need to do more but the only thing I haven't done is win 20 races, or 11 if you include the 9 I already won. I may give GTA a rest and move onto Rainbowsix Vegas.

I never spoke about this but I pre ordered Wii Fit. If you don't know me by now then you should know that I love to work out, even though I don't do it as much as I would like. So basically that maks me a sucker for anything game related dealing with fitness. I had bought Kinetic for the PS2 but it really wasn't all that fun because of the Playstation Eyetoy. Hopefully Wii Fit will fix my hunger, and from what I have been hearing it should but I will see when it arrives tomorrow.

Sorry if this is like a bragging blog but I really just wanted to share with everyone my accomplishment, especially since this my first GTA game I have ever finished 100%. It only seems right though, I believe this game has managed to fit itself into my 1st or 2nd spot on my favorite games of all times list. Well thanks for reading.

From both sides of the City.

After a couple of hours playing the PS3 version of GTA I think I can finally tell my thoughts between the two. First off I am not biased on any of the two consoles and I am not going to bash one just because. The first thing I noticed is that they both look about the same, or at least I couldn't tell to much difference. And of course the PS3 showed faster load times but that is to be expected from the 4 gigs of space the game needs to load before you play, I didn't time it exactly but it looks to me like a difference of 30 to 40 seconds per load time. Really the only huge difference I could tell was the PS3 version showed better draw distance and better physics, such as the sparks that fly from the rim when you drive and explosions. And I also noticed that on the 360 version the game had a hard time loading the road when I was driving fast within the city but I never noticed that on the PS3, I can only assume that has something to do with the 4 gig load as well. So basically there are a few advantages on the PS3 but nothing so huge as to warrant a PS3 purchase if you already own a 360. As for controls that really is your preference, I find the 360's controls to be better because I think they are more easily to get used to, even though I grew up with GTA on the PS2.

I haven't bought a Wii game in so long that I figure no time like the present. So I went out on my first day on vacation :D and bought a couple of games. Here is the list: Mario Kart Wii, Deca sports, Wii Play, Super Smash bros. Brawl, Mario Galaxy, Mario and Sonic at the Olympic games, and last but not least a 360 game, Rainbow Six Vegas collectors edition.

Mario Kart is fun but not something that I have to play, more of a friend and family activity than anything. Super Smash bros Brawl is extremely fun, like always, but the classic mode is too short and even though I haven't finished story mode it seems very repetitive and long, and not fun long. Deca sports if you didn't know is a compilation sports game, yeah like the Wii didn't have enough, with 10 sports that you may or may not like. First things first Deca sports is not worth the 30 dollar price tag I paid for it, although I do still like the game or three games out of ten but I would have rather bought it used for 20 but live and learn. Wii play I basically bought for the controller and came out liking a few of the games, maybe because I had such low expectations in the first place. I haven't played Mario and Sonic at the Olympic games or Mario Galaxy but I have high hopes and I am still waiting for Rainbow Six Vegas.

Sometime this week I may go out and get Haze but I still haven't made up my mind, I liked the demo but I may wait for a review.

Inside every city, there shall be a dream.

Ok first off, yes I did buy GTA 4 for both the PS3 and 360. Secondly, no I didn't forget that I already pre-ordered it. After much thought and a lot of friend persuasion I decided to also get it on the 360, for online play. Oh, and hello everyone.

I just got done with the story in GTA and all I can say is wow, I mean not mass effect wow but pretty close to it. The story is the best yet, much better than my favorite Vice City. I can't really put my finger on why it was so good but I think it is the fact that the main character didn't seem all hollowed out, you really kind of cared for him and all of the people in his life, I guess it had an RPG story element. I only had a couple of dislikes about the game, like for instance, the cover system was great but every time I tried to aim it was like the aiming system got caught up on something and wouldn't let me move to the far right or left, and I found the jumping to be a bit off sometimes, the only thing that really made these annoying is they always ended up getting me killed. And my last pet peeve of this game has to go to all the friends and loved ones in the game, I couldn't go for more than five minutes without someone calling me asking if I wanted to do something, the bad thing is I was always in a mission when they would call or I was just doing something important at the time but I found a way out of the thumbs down thing.

I haven't tried any multi player but I will soon, actually I need to find a way to get that stupid Away off my gamer tag, I remember I put it up so that people would leave me alone while I was playing crackdown but I can't remember how to get it off. And as for the PS3 version I may start that next weekend because I will be on Vacation. That's right 10 whole days of gaming nirvana. I will be playing GTA, Super Smash Bros, Mario kart Wii, and anything else that comes my way. I was thinking of getting either Haze, Army of Two or Dark Sector but I haven't made my mind up yet.

Learning control is the best lesson of all.

Well I am back once again. My life is pretty boring right now, I did get a couple of cool things which I will discuss more later. Right now I am getting ready to go back to school, the only thing I am lacking is one simple phone call and to pay the introduction fee.

I got my notebook, actually that is what I am typing on now. But the bad news is I have to get it sent in to have some minor work done on it. Something is up with the power connector, basically the AC power connector sticks out a little. It sucks because it doesn't hurt the notebook now, but I figure I might as well get it taken care of before it becomes a huge deal in the future. When I eventually get it back, I will post some pictures. And since it has a built in web cam I may do a video blog.

Along with the notebook I got a couple of games, some being played more than others. The first week I got Crysis, Bioshock, and Oblivion game of the year edition. Crysis is amazing and it actually plays decently on high, I can get better performance on med or if I turn down the resolution. Bioshock and Oblivion both play flawlessly and on high settings. What I love the most about the majority of the games I got is the fact that I can use one of my 360 controllers to play the game, with a USB dongle of course. Another game I got is Sins of a solar empire. I know I say all the time that RTS games aren't my cup of tea but after playing the demo I couldn't resist. There is just so much to do in SoSE that the limit of 90 minutes just wouldn't cut it in the demo, so the next day I went out and bought it. What's funny is that I played the game for an entire day and I am already sick of it, but oh well maybe I will go back to it another time.

In other news I bought several things over the last couple of weeks. Saints Row is one of the games that I meant to get a long time ago and with GTA 4 coming out in a couple of weeks I figure Saints Row could tie me down until then. I haven't received it yet but I am hoping today. And if you don't know me by now I am a pretty big stargate sg-1 fan, well big enough to buy the complete series in a box set. I almost didn't get it, it is very expensive, but it was on sale on Amazon so I figure it is now or never. I had already seen seasons 1-6 so I basically started on season 7 and it took me a whooping two weeks to finish from 7 through 10. And now for the last entry of my nerd purchases, all five comics of the Amory Wars, the first comic is a rare cover signed by all four members of Coheed and Cambria and the second comic is the rare black and white cover. I already had the first comic but I found the entire set for a really good price. Now I am waiting for the series to continue in the Amory Wars 2.

Other than all that above I haven't been doing a lot. My gaming has really taken a nose dive but hopefully Saints row will change that. I also have been writing my story, which is actually going nicely. I had to start completely over, I didn't like what I had written. So out of two weeks I have most of chapter one done and about half of chapter two finished, hopefully I will be done with chapter two and will have started on chapter 3 before I have to send in my notebook but I will see.

Well until next time I guess.

Your God will not save you.

So much to play yet so little money. I keep hearing so many good thing about Army of Two, Devil May Cry 4, and The Club yet I am unable to purchase any due to my other duties of getting a notebook computer. Although the wait is almost over, hopefully, and I should be back into the scene of new games anytime now. And if anything I still have GTA 4 fully pre-ordered so I know I am getting that in late April.

I have ran into some extreme luck recently. One of my fellow co-workers happened to get his hands on an extra guitar controller for rock band, but since the guitar he got was for the PS3, which isn't the version he has, I ended up buying it from him for half of the price I would have bought it new. I have hooked it up and it works flawlessly, so I now have a full set of equipment for Rockband. I am having company over tomorrow so I may get some use out of it.

I am still in my mandatory game funk, although I have been playing Just Cause recently, well more of that I can't wait for the sequel. Right now I am trying to max the game at 100%, which shouldn't be that hard since I have already put a huge dent into the game already. All that is left is overthrowing all the areas and finishing the game one more time, I am thinking of doing the races and a few side missions but if I remember correctly all the side missions were boring to tears so I may not.

I actually thought about pre-ordering Turning Point a long time ago and man am I glad I passed on it. I played the demo and it just seemed as if it was just the same ole FPS from last generation. The graphics didn't even say to me mediocre. Maybe when the game becomes a budget saver selection that I will give it some thought but as of right now this game is no where near my most haves.

I can't wait to get my notebook, it is actually eating away at me. I have selected it and I am just waiting for the funds to manifest into my account. Too bad my company isn't allowing in overtime or I would be slaving away right now. What's sad is that I love getting new electronics that I am excited about, because if it wasn't for that I would be so bored and unhappy with my job. This way I have a goal, something to think about while I am doing something I hate doing. One of the main reasons why I am going back to school, hopefully I can get a job doing something I love, that way I wouldn't mind going in to work for the 40+ hours that I must in order to continue paying for all the luxuries life has to offer.

I can't believe how hard it is to search for a notebook! For the last two nights I searched for more than 8 hours on different sites trying to find the best performance at a good price. At first I had made up my mind but then for some reason I wanted something more powerful and so the search began again. I am happy to say that I have found a middle ground and this choice should make me happy. I have also heard that this notebook can run Crysis on med, which is getting me a little excited. To be honest I won't be doing a whole lot of gaming but it's nice to know that I can, plus I think my degree may demand a pretty well of PC. When I get this thing I will post pictures and let you know how certain games run, such as Crysis, Oblivion, FEAR, Bioshock, and half life 2 and all it's goodies.

My sickness is getting the best of me. But I am happy to note that I have stopped coughing and I broke the fever. Now I only have to get rid of the aches and pains. At least my searching for the perfect notebook has taken my mind off the pain.

No gaming to speak of. I will have to put myself in a game funk for the next month or two, I kind of went over my budget for this notebook and so I have to make up the difference by saving. So don't expect me to get any games for a good while.

Giving in to the world at hand.

Well I couldn't dodge it, I tied and hoped for the best but some how I caught the flu. I hate being sick but I loath having the flu, it's like a group of people continued to beat the hell out of me while I was a sleep. Hopefully it will go away in a couple of days, hopefully is the keyword.

I haven't been doing a lot of gaming lately, I did however download more songs for Rock Band. I now have 100 songs for the game, and I believe there were only a handful of song I don't have, most of them being last weeks songs, I want to know what they were thinking with ROAM!!!

In other news I am getting a notebook PC within a month. I was frantically looking today at every possible option available to me and I really was getting tired of looking, then it dawned on me that I can get one custom built. So I went online to all the major companies and I think I found the PC I am getting. It carries a 2.5 Ghz Dual Core CPU, 4 GB of RAM (I will actually upgrade this myself, basically saving me 200 dollars in the process), a 512 MB video card that can use some of the system memory as video memory (basically I can go up to 1.7 GB of video memory, even though I probably won't because I don't think I will get much performance boost out of it), a 250 GB hard drive, and I haven't made up my mind but I am thinking of going with a Blu ray disc tray. This looks like it would be expense but to be honest it really isn't. I managed to cut a few corners here and there, mainly the RAM. Plus this is a machine that can't be upgraded, well except hard drive space and RAM, so I believe in getting what I want. And the more I thought about it the more I realized that I might need a gaming notebook for some of my classes, well at least a notebook that can handle video editing. I am also hoping to play Oblivion, FEAR, and hopefully Crysis (as you can see I hold my hopes and dreams very high).

My love shall see her end.

So what's going on? I don't know if I missed any drama but I am sure I did, knowing this place. I am making preparations for some of my future endeavors. Soon I will be going back to school and I am hoping to start a small operation to help pay for some of my expenses, both school and gaming.

I have been playing a good bit of Rock Band, Castlevania SOTN, Puzzle Quest, and Assassin's Creed. I beat Call of Duty 4 the day I got it which means I really should have rented it but little too late. Contra 4 I had to give up, that game is way too hard and believe me I tried but when I got to the last level died and then had to restart I just couldn't take it, I was confused and going a little crazy.

I played Rock Band with a friend the other week and I must say that the world tour mode is way more fun than the solo tour. And I thought the vocals would be hard but I can do Coheed and Cambria's Welcome Home with 99% on medium which I don't know if that song is supposed to be hard but I crushed it. I haven't finished the vocal portion yet, mainly because I have been downloading a lot of the DLC songs. So far I have bought the David Bowie, Black Sabbath, and the Oasis Pack, and 14 single tracks and I am planning on getting the next pack that releases next week. I am not liking the Ten Speed song though, that is one of my favorite songs off of Good Apollo but they didn't get a good person to cover the song.

I thought Puzzle Quest would get boring after an hour or two but it is holding pretty strong. I think I have put in a good 7 hours, give or take. The story so far is garbage but I love the game play.

I am about to put away Assassin's Creed for a good while, I tried getting all the flags in Jerusalem but it is proving to more of a head ache then anything else, I have found 92 or 94 out of 100 but I can't find the rest. The last time I played I spent almost 4 hours just looking for the flags but gave up.

The next time you hear from me will probably be a long time from now, I am just so busy that it's not funny. I used to have so much time to both play games and hang out on GS but now I am finding that my time is drastically being cut from playing games and I very rarely have a chance to come on here, well except to glance at the news and what not. Hopefully I will have another update sooner rather than later.

Path of foreshadowing leading to the end.

Yes I know, I haven't been on in what may seem like forever. All I can say is that I am getting my life situated. I will be getting a notebook computer within the next two months and will be starting school once more, and hopefully the last time, within six months. Nothing really new to speak of besides the games I have been playing.

Let me start off with a game I got from a friend for Christmas. Uncharted Drakes's Fortune was a pretty good game, the graphics were nice, the combat system didn't take too long to get used to and the environments were simple and believeable. The story on the other hand was really good at first but then toward the end it felt as if they tried to cram one half of the game in a small two hour play through. It felt a lot like Prince of Persia had a baby with Tomb Raider.

The next game I will talk about a lot of people on here have already played through, Mass Effect. Now I liked everything about the game but the story is what made me love the game. I was getting a little frustrated with the frame rate issues but at least it didn't break the game. Toward the end I was a little bored of doing the side missions so I went a head and just finished it, I think the entire game took me 21 hours to fully complete, which isn't bad for an RPG.

And last but not least, my favorite out of the three, Assassin's Creed. I have no idea why AC is getting such mixed reviews, I simply loved this game. The graphics were amazing, the controls were incredibly smooth and very easy to get used to, and the story I thought was extrememly entertaining. I know the end was just a large teaser for the sequal but I still enjoyed every second of game play. The story wasn't as good as Mass Effect but for some reason AC had me hooked from the beginning and basically kept me hooked through out the entire game.

Now this Friday I will be pre-ordering GTA 4 and maybe Dark Sector. Dark Sector is one of those games that I had read about a long time ago and then never heard about it since, I just happen to look at the up coming releases and the game caught my eye. Other than those two I have been thinking of maybe one or two more games to add to the list. I was thinking of Call of Duty 4, but I won't be playing multi player so I am still unsure. Mario Galaxy is another but I think I want to play something a little more violent at the moment, same thing with Nights I am not sure I want to play that kind of game. And then there is The Orange Box, I really need to get this game of course my only question is which system to get it for, I have looked at videos and besides the loading screens, which the PS3 takes maybe a second or two longer than the 360, they are pretty much the same so I am thinking of just going with the PS3 version.

Well I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas and New Years and I am not sure if I am fully back but I will do my best to be on here every now and then.

Long road less traveled.

Well I am finally back. I was actually back yesterday but I am having a difficult time dealing with certain aspects of my life right now, just to let you know I will be on as much as I can, but no promises.

I finished lego starwars 2 and almost got 100%, I think I am at 95 or 97 but the game got a little boring so it went back into my rainy day games pile.

To be honest I really am not doing a lot of gaming, call it a funk if you want I just have so much on my mind right now that it's hard for me to enjoy anything without thinking of my problems. But next week I should be out of the funk, Rock Band will hopefully be mine next Tuesday, and I did decide what console I am getting it for; PS3 if you were wondering. I won't go into why I picked the PS3 because to be honest I was just too tired of worrying about it so I just went with the PS3.

I may do a blog some other time but I just wanted to let everyone know that I was still alive.
