@Aria1368 Every idea, more often than not, gained inspiration from another idea. Some of the best ideas in fact come from improving upon others.
This game thus far looks amazing. Taking "cinematic style" your words, in fact comes from cinema. Uncharted style was inspired by games like tomb raider and movies like Indiana Jones. They did a grand job of pulling their ideas together and executing them in such a way that it made a game that quite a few people love.
Now these guys are doing just the same. Taking great ideas and applying their story and character to them trying to create something else different and yet just as engaging.
@biggest_loser @maxwell97 side note: people get shot all the time and dont die. Look up Roy P. Benavidez. True American soldier and a true hero. More of our young men should strive to be half the man he was.
People are entitled to their opinions and all but what McShea doesnt seem to get is that there hasnt been nor will there ever be a game that conveys the true rush of adrenaline, terror, and horror that can come from being put in situations where you life is on the line. It is a game and there is no way to convey this with current tech. On top of that as a person who daily was put into those situations I can confidently say I would never ever play a game that could convey those feelings.
If Mcshea wants to feel what its like to take a life or be or have his own threatened then he can find a vocation that would put him in those situations.
These are video games and as was said by both guys they are an escape from reality. But if a game and convey a message through its story or feelings brought out in characters that make the player think or feel something real if even for a moment then I think the developer has done something meaningful.
@Vari3ty yeah the reason 1.2 million is a failure, in the case of Amalur, was because the copies sold didn't cover the extreme development costs of trying to make a big title in today's economy and game-space.
@Zidaneski Has there even been a truly open world tomb raider. I mean per the definition of "open world" I havent followed the games in a while so Im not sure. But im talking like Skyrim open world. I seriously doubt it. I would assume most were script and lead type games with maybe multiple ways to tackle a situation. Im still holding out for it. Next demo they show us needs to display some more survival aspects of the game as well as maybe some puzzles and i think most the naysayers will be satisfied.
