The End of the Anime Fansubs?

The most recent anime "Neo Angelique Abyss" from KOEI was broadcast in Japan. On the same week, the same show was telecast in Singapore with English subtitles. Previously, another anime called D. Gray-man had it's second season broadcast on Singapore's local channel on the same week as Japan. It is obvious that all this is in an effort to rid themselves of the need for fansubs which the anime distribution companies blame for their own poor sales. However, having already watched the pilots of these shows, I'm rather disappointed with their choice to use these shows for their attempt. IMO, this animes aren't very good, and sadly, I think their attempt will fail.

April Dates

I should have mentioned this sooner, but it's better to be late than...being told you're forgetful. What I wanted to mention is that April is Autism Awareness month. For those of you who wanted to promote it's awareness, here's the emblem for your use. Another thing is that on the 14th will be my "I wish it never happened" Day, and I would rather no one celebrated it. Let's just celebrate something else. Oh and don't bother wasting your wishes, I don't intend to be happy on that day. Oh and by the way, April is also Alcohol Awareness month. It's about bringing attention to everyone about the dangers of alcohol abuse, and not about promoting alcohol (sic&lame). April is also the month for Sexual Assault Awareness. So no sex this month? Ha ha.

An Unscheduled Blog

Well here I am again with nothing much to blog about. In the meantime, American Idol has just ended it's episode on my cable channel, in an hour later, they'll show the same episode again. A couple hours after that show has ended, my local channel will show the same episode again. And people suggest that if I don't like the show I don't have to watch it. So what can I watch then?!

What Am I Doing Here?

You know how when you're with friends and there's nothing to talk about. And there's nothing to do. Well...that how it is here right now. Except I'm watching television at the same time and nothing seems to be popping into my head. It's moments like this when all you can do is rant mindlessly. Here's an example: I'm watching "Damages" by the way, which is probably the best show that I've got right now. Glenn Close's performance was so great I could kiss her. The other televisions shows that I have watched this past few months has been crap. The most disappointing show has got to be that "Bionic Woman". They really messed up the show, there was a lot of bad acting from supposedly good actors and actresses, and even the camera man could not even hold the damn camera still. The worst has got to be the action. American Idol is also back, which really sucks. I have never liked any of the albums any of the this idols have made, and that includes the first AI winner. I just don't know why people listen to that crap. This days, I'm just listening to music from Winehouse and recently Duffy. They're great, even Duffy. Well that's all the time I have right now. Let me just end this blog with a funny saying: Those who live by the sword...paint their faces blue and go around shouting "You can never take our freedom!"

What's So Good About Shopping?!

Someone wrote in my papers a few weeks ago about how the kids today aren't as enthusiastic about sports the way we were when we were their age. This days, kids are only interested in shopping and computer games. Shopping...? Computer games, I can relate. But shopping?! Geez! What's so damn fun about shopping?!! Back when I was a kid, I was into a lot of sports. Especially soccer, swimming, basket ball, and even martial arts. Bowling and snooker...well sure, I'll even consider that a sport too. The Nintendo's Wii, I'll think about it. But shopping??!! Going shopping just makes you weak, poorer, fussy, and definitely more spoilt. Well, obviously by now you know that I don't like shopping. Besides, the service this days is terrible. The whole thing is in their control. I can't even get a cup of iced tap water in a cafe anymore. It has to be bottled. There are other things too, but I have to stop now.

New Ideas Needed and Pool Tales

It has almost been a month since I started promoting the revival of the Blue Box Cult (Well not so much promoting), but I don't think I have gathered a following at all despite some positive responses from some of you. I need feedback as to what is stopping you guys from doing so. I read someone's blog about his niece being 16th fastest swimmer in her country (or something like that). IMO, that is quite an achievement. Back in my teen days, I used to spend much of my days in the waters. I even tried to qualify for membership into an exclusive swimming club but I did not make the requirements. If I had gone in, I would have been tutored by my country's best coaches. I have heard stories about the place. One story I'll always remember was the one where the a coach told his students (all boys) to put on various swimming gears including fins, caps, paddles, etc. And then they were told to swim one 50m lap. They all dived in and swam at top speed. A girl suddenly appeared and swam in after them. She swam right past them, reached the end, got out and left. The boys were shocked and embarrassed, and the coach scolded them for losing to a girl. Turned out the girl was one of a few to be selected to represent our country in the Olympics. But still it was quite a humble lesson for the boys. That story taught us not to be too cocky.

Never Forgotten

First, I would like to wish Newbie a Happy Birthday. Erm...who is Newbie anyway? ~The trees that whisper in the evening Carried away by a moonlight shadow~ It was a more than 3 months ago that I started listening to this song again. It was not too long ago that Pakistan as well as the rest of Asia lost someone important. A woman that faced incredible odds to shape her country, to be gunned down at a time when she was badly needed. ~Star was glowing in a silvery night Far away on the other side~ Drea's passing is almost a year ago now, but still there are those who have not forgotten her. She must have been a good friend to them, and I regret losing the opportunity to be one to her. I don't think she will ever be forgotten. ~The crowd gathered just to leave him Carried away by a moonlight shadow~ Oh and by the way, the song was actually about Harry Houdini and John Lennon.

I'm Stuck at what to Blog

Hmmmm....I wanna blog at least once a week but I'm stuck as to what to write. Especially when I have little time to blog. Ahhhh! Lets see...er...you know, living on the East side of the world, I only get to watch shows that are one season later than you guys...mostly. And so the writer's strike hasn't affected me yet. I suppose it will soon next year. Ah crap, I've to stop blogging now. Sorry, I'll continue later.

My First Blog of 2008: Resurrecting the Blue Box Cult

It has been more than a couple of months since I blogged. As such, this is my first blog of 2008. I would like firstly, to let you all to know my intentions over here for this month and the next. If you look over just above this blog title, you'll notice a few emblems displayed in a row. What are they? Well, some years back, someone formed a "cult" that had it's members display various current emblems that they received as well as stats of their contributions inside a blue line border (referred to as the blue box). That cult was gone soon after the staff at TV.com removed the option of the blue box. I introduced some ideas to creating the blue box again but that idea just did not work for many. A few months ago, I came up with a new way utilizing the blog preference option as shown here: Blog Preference I displayed various emblems that I created each of which represented either something about the groups I belong to, my pledges, or what I wish to make aware of. For example: RLSS This emblem is the logo of the Royal Life Saving Society which I once belonged to. I have put this up only because I could not think of any other society crest I could display proudly without revealing too much about myself. Remembering Drea Everytime I stop by here, Drea always comes to mind and I don't know why. So anyway, I made this emblem for everyone who remembers her and wants something to remember her by. Cult of the Blue Box I decided to make an emblem for the Cult of the blue box. This emblem is for those who once belonged to the old cult. I just thought you guys ought to have this as a remembrance of what you once belonged to. Cult of the Named Butterfly Just like the Blue Box Cult, I have also made an emblem for the CotNB. I don't think that cult is gone, I noticed Angelsxo still has her named butterfly. So I hope you like this, Mary. White Ribbon This white ribbon emblem represents men's pledge to end physical violence against women, an international campaign organized every Nov 25. And this is my pledge. Green Earth This is the main reason for this whole new Blue Box idea. Remember some time back when I tried to get the people here to go green. I failed miserably. But I don't give up on things. And that's why I came up with this whole idea. In this way, I could get more support from more people to make a pledge to conserve energy. Autism Awareness Autism Awareness month is coming up in April, so I made this emblem. I have read a lot about it ever since someone blogged about Autism but I really don't quite understand it still. I really tried to. Sorry. Black Ribbon For those who are in mourning of the lost of someone. Well...it doesn't have to be someone close, it could just be for someone important. Aids Awareness Aids Awareness Day was over a couple of months ago, but I made an emblem of it anyway. Maybe someone might still want to put it up. I have made other emblems which I have not displayed, if you're interested let me know. Or if you want me to make something for you, let me know too. But please don't bother asking me to make something offensive. I won't do it. Oh! That blue ribbon emblem? It's in support of free speech on the internet. Which reminds me, I wish you guys would give me more criticisms. I hardly ever get any. The only ones I ever get is in regards to my privacy settings.
And now for some links: Here is some links to vids that I wanted to show you guys. Rolling Bomber Special It's a parody of those Japanese Power Ranger type series. Gatchaman 2000 My favourite action anime when I was a kid. This is a trailer of the movie that was suppose to be in the works, it got everybody excited. There was even a live trailer of the movie. But then it was decided it wasn't going to happen...until recently. Yes! The movie is coming out next year! IMAGI is producing the movie as well as Astro Boy which will also be out next year.

An Angry Man

I wish I could blog on a better mood but I really don't think I can stop by later. Firstly, I've been told I have to get rid of many of casts on my shows in order to comply with the site's new policy. But I seem to having trouble deleting them. I keep clicking the delete button but nothing happens. I don't know what I'm doing wrong. Secondly, I've only just recovered from the flu...well, almost recovered. And lastly, the biggest cause of my anger and probably for many others too: America! I don't know why people should be happy about the agreement that was finally planned. Thanks to those *******ing *****ed ****ers, the important guidelines were trashed making the signed papers very weak and near useless. America, you should be a shame of yourselves, all of you, young and old. I certainly feel ashamed for being human. Oh and for those ignominious who don't know what I'm talking about, I am referring to the United Nations Climate Conference.
