Just Blopping Mostly

I just wanted you guys to know that I'll try to stop by your blogs as much as I can this week, so if I haven't stopped by yours yet please let me know. And if you're worried that I might not drop by, please let me know.

On Course

I know I haven't dropped by here for quite some time but the company put me on a long course so I'm too busy to blog or blop. Hope everyone is alright. Hmmm...what's this red underlines doing here? I guess the site has some new features I'm unaware of. Happy holidays to all of you!

The Unsolvable

I don't want to blog much today, I just want to blop about and see how everybody is. I'm feeling normal (or so called "normal") today, and not my grouchy self. I thought of adding another new riddle to my lists here, but decided I didn't want to clean up brain matter today. So I thought I'd put this instead: There is this partially completed riddle that I jotted down in my pad that for the past couple of weeks, I can't remember what show it's suppose to be for. Because the riddle is incomplete, I can't figure out the answer and I need help with it. So here is the partial riddle for those of you who really need this difficult challenge. Riddle#?? Sounds very subdued with no end likely. PS: The past few months, there was quite a few who have stopped blogging for a while, and to see them return to it...well, I'm just glad to see them again.

Riddles Recompiled

Noticed that I have recompiled my riddles again. I figured I should recompile them since the previous one was not updated. So far, only one person has attempted to solve the latest riddles. And even I have gone back last week to try and solve my own riddles. You see, it's been quite some time since I looked at them, and had forgotten most of them myself. Funny thing, I managed to solve all but one of my own riddles in a flash. But man! Riddle#57 is toughie! It took me a couple of days before I finally figured out the answer. Anyway, I've added another new riddle to the list to make the numbers even. Good luck solving them.

The Riddler Drops By

First of all, I would like to thank those of you who still spend time to drop by this blog even though even I don't. I can only assume that you have got an incredible high tolerance for pain and so I admire you for that. These past few weeks, I've only been ranting on and on about some company that recently has been getting alot of bad rap from anime fans like me (By the way, the company finally caved-in to pressure, sort of). But not anymore, starting now... For the past few months, I've on some occassions had thought of a new TV riddle and have had them written down on my notepad. Some are complete but many are not. Given that it has been such a long time since anyone of you has played my game, I thought I should at least put some of them down here now. As for those of you new here and do not know or have even forgotten what my TV riddles are...well, it's like this. You see, a long time ago, I came up with this bunch of riddles that were strictly for TV fans, the answers to the riddles are titles to television shows (mostly popular ones). As time went on, the number of riddles grew and even a cult was formed. However, many, many months ago, due to time constraints, pressures, and just simply due to a lack of new shows...I stopped coming up with riddles. And that was when the whole game ended. I used to come up with all sorts of games too but that also stopped. But now I think I should try and start something up again, I have not been inventing here and I really should. Actually, the first idea that popped into my head while I was typing here was to have a roasting on someone's birthday, I'm not sure if it has been done on this site yet but I really feel like having one... Oh! Nearly forgot...the riddles! Erm...for those who want to look back at some of the past riddles I came up with, here is the link: Compilation of all my Riddles And here are five new ones (Is that enough?): Riddle#61: In the first case, you want the most. In other cases, you hope for the least. Riddle#62: Father tells his tale...it's legendary! Riddle#63: Web-slinger's daddy wants to adopt. Riddle#64: Charcoal, timber and paper could be called that. But sin might be a better name. Riddle#65: Beautiful and terrible to waste, cause it fits the profile. If you think you know the answers to the riddles, then PM me the answer and I'll tell you if you're correct. Whatever you do, do not leave the answers in the comments section.

The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly Situation

The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly Situation
High school...they won't my best of years nor were they my worst. But there were some (very) unusual events that happen in those days that I could still remember clearly. Sadly, this story is not one of them as I cannot recall some of the details anymore. But what I do remember was that it was our last class of the day, less than an hour before the school bell rang to signal the release of us back into the streets.

Quietly we sat in class waiting for our teacher to enter the classroom, but she did not appear. Fifteen minutes passed, and still no teacher. One of my classmate decided to head down to the teachers office to find out what was going on. She returned to inform us that she was told that the teacher was on her way. So we waited and waited and waited. Being young teens back then, patience was a virtue that few of us had, and once again, one of us went back down to the office to find out what was going on. You see...there was this unwritten rule that if a teacher doesn't turn up before the final (by the way, in university, it's the first 15) fifteen minutes of class then class was dismissed (or something like that) for that session, and our minds were concentrated on that thought.

When our classmate returned with no news, and since it was now fifteen minutes (I think) before the final bell rang...we hesitated for a few seconds...and then all the daring boys left school with great joy, followed by the more timid classmates. I do not remember what I did with the extra fifteen minutes of that day, but I trust I put them to fabulous use. The reason why I believe that to be the case was because I woke up late the next day (I never wake up late) and I was late for school.

I was told in the passed by my peers that there was no way to sneak-in through the front gates because the area was too opened. The only possible way in was through the back gate (which I oftened used to sneak-out), but that was watched by the discipline master. Having had many experiences sneaking in and out of various schools in the past, I was confident I could get pass the discipinarian.

I was careful and made my way towards the back gate, I knew of a few good spots where the man could be watching from and spied on those areas. I got worried when I found those spots empty. Not knowing where he was, I made my way through the gate instead of climbing over the fence. I was totally surprised at how easily I snuck back into school and made it all the way to the class corridor without being caught.

Stepping into my classroom, I found the whole room completely empty!

Believe me, there was no school holiday that day! So I took a peek at the other classrooms and found classes had just begun for those. I returned to my classrom and sat and waited. My teacher arrived a minute later and she was surprised to see me in the room, she then informed me that the rest of my mates were out in the courtyard. I went down and took a peek out and found my class standing outside under the hot sun. And in front, under the shade, was the discipinarian watching them. It seemed I had escaped punishment! Returning to &#lass, I wanted to asks the teacher why she did not turn me in. But I did not want to put that thought into her head so I simply sat down and waited. My mates finally returned to class some minutes later, a few of them, on the verge of a heat stroke. Predictably, when recess came, I was boasting about my escape from punishment. Many of my friends however were not interested in my tale, but were rather furious at their punishment. Few thought it was completely their fault, and felt that they were punished as a result of the school's own failures, the failure of the teacher to turn up, the failure of the principle to get a replacement, and the failure of the teachers to keep us informed. Our time was valuable to us, and we merely initiated our own actions since the school staff did not bother to. And so we agreed that the principle and staff were mostly to blame.

The reason why I have decided to share this particular chronicle of my life with you guys is because I wanted to talk about how I find justice to be often like this days. (There are so many other stories of my life that I could use as examples, but this one is a more lighter tale.) We sometimes think we are the good guys, and will not take the share of the blame. We push the entire blame on the bad guys. The bad guys on the other hand, feel that they should not be entirely to blame but their voices fall on deaf ears. Being the bad guy that I am, I never really like these 'good' people. For crying out loud! Just share some the blame!

Wiping Out the Bugs

This is a continuation of my previous blog, and it expresses my thoughts about what is happening in the Anime society in Singapore. I also provide you with two links, the first is an animation on Youtube that was created by a Singaporean. The animation expresses the deep sentiments that the animation society currently feels. The second link is that of an interview with the president of that organisation that is sueing the fans and it gives their reasons for why they are doing what they are doing. Links: 1. XEDO holocaust 2. Interview with Dr. Toh See Kiat It was during the early 80's that I first became an anime fan. Back during those days, there were very few of our kind. We had a deep passion and appreciation of this Japanese entertainment art form. I remember how I used to visit the one shop that sold some pirated anime video tapes, my only source of anime back in those days. Grouping together with other fans some years later, we started ordering originals from overseas to collect. I paid a huge fortune for my collection. I believe that those kids in Singapore are doing the same, they start off by learning about anime by watching those pirated anime videos, but as they grow older, they become avid collectors and begin buying good quality originals. Disallowing people to illegally download them, there will hardly ever be any anime fans forming. All collectors, be it anime, comics, art, even stamp, only want the best quality available in their collection. So we never buy the inferiors. Anime fans in Asia (excluding Japan and Korea), are like bugs that farmers think are spoiling their fields but in truth much of this help to make the land more fertile. But when this farmers in Singapore started to kill some of this bugs, many of the bugs started to swarm them. As a result, most of the bugs do not intend to help the farmers anymore and probably will look to other ways to grow. The bug population will continue to survive, but the farmers won't.

Anime Fans in Tragedy

To the best of my recollections, I have never ever downloaded any illegal software, music, movie, etc. from the internet nor have I ever encouraged anyone to do so. However, an incident in the country of Singapore has left me sympathising with some of the fans that sadly have been sued for downloading anime. Please see this link here here for the details. When I first read the news report, it left me sick in the stomach. Recently, I have been told that parents in that country are now even stopping their children from watching anime anymore, and worse, disallowing their children from using the internet altogether, for fear of being sued. Furthermore, from the report, it seems probable that we are looking at a scam utilising copyright laws as a tool. As a long time anime fan, I feel I need to voice my unhappiness and alert other fans of this horrible injustice. For further details, please PM me instead.
