And when did Israel ever attack first? Iran attacks Israel every day through Hamas and Hezballah. The quote I'm talking about.
"Israel is the country with a history of attacking first, not Iran, when it comes to those two nations."

Well since that is kinda the purpose of the game. I mean that's like the whole marketing they're doing you'll die over and over again. Anyway I think I died alot more in Uncharted/time than in Demon's Souls, yet Demon's Souls took me like 60 hours.[QUOTE="SquirrelTamer"][QUOTE="Cheese-Muffins"]
I've been seeing people say it's around 3 times as big as Demon's Souls. But how much of that time were spent dying and redoing the same things over and over?

I mean, that to me is somewhat artifically lengthening the game. I'm not saying change the difficulty, but saying its going to take X amount of hours is somewhat misleading when you spend most of that time redoing the same tasks and fighting the same monsters over and over until you don't die.
Yeah I agree with you frankly I'm tired of everyone hyping the difficulty of this game, that's not why I enjoyed Demon's Souls at all. My point is that making you die alot of time is their goal and not an unintended side effect. And if it's done well there's nothing wrong with it, unlike games where you die alot of cheap deaths. Anyway as I said I don't think you'll die that many times. The reason it also takes alot of time is because it's a pretty big world and it's easy to get lost sometimes. Also related is that when you do die you have to start all over. So it's not so much about dying but about the result of dying. Also you have to take it slow. Running around careless and hack'n'slash will kill you instantly. So that's another reason.I think people say it'll take at least 4 times to as much time to beat it. And Demon's Souls took like 60 hours for me. Maybe less but that's like the average.[QUOTE="SquirrelTamer"][QUOTE="Cheese-Muffins"]
That is why I said "Nintendo's polish." No bugs, and great level design and gameplay.
And where are you getting 240 hours for Dark Souls? I'm seeing anywhere between 40-60 hours for that game...

Dark Souls is like 240[QUOTE="SquirrelTamer"][QUOTE="Cheese-Muffins"]
And it's supposed to take over 50 hours to complete, with the possibility of 100 hours or greater of content. That, to me, is amazing, ewpecially when you have game after game come out lasting only 5-8 hours. And with Nintendo's polish, I'd say it has the best shot at GOTY.

and the 300 hours aren't mostly consisted of going from one extremely empty side of the world to the other :D inb4backfire No backfire lol I agree. Dark Souls on the other hand.Skyrim is 300+ hours so it wins by that logic. Dark Souls is like 240[QUOTE="SquirrelTamer"][QUOTE="Cheese-Muffins"]

Dark Souls has From polish though which >Nintendo polish. That also means no bugs and even better gameplay and level design. Judging by Demon's Souls.Skyrim is 300+ hours so it wins by that logic. Well I agree with you there. But one thing though I think depth in itself makes a game good. But depth and simpleness aren't opposites.[QUOTE="SquirrelTamer"][QUOTE="calvinsora"]
No, when has complexity in and of itself ever made a game good? Unless I'm mistaken, actual design is key there.

I can agree in part to depth, though as you say, it's possible for simplicity and depth to hold hand in hand. I for one found SMG2 to be both. The green stars really highlighted the depth of the level design, while the controls and lay-out were simplicity itself.
I haven't played SMG2 but what you said could be applied to the story of Portal 1. Really the simplest story and yet very deep and one of the best. Actually I think too much complexity could hurt the depth. It kinda messes everything up. Look at the two latest assassins creed games, they're very complex yet IMO very shallow. Now both these examples was just about the story but it can be applied to all aspects of a game.
